On the day that shocks the world, one boy just wants to find his family. A powerful addition to the gripping I SURVIVED series.
The only thing Lucas loves more than football is his Uncle Benny, his dad's best friend at the fire department where they both work. Benny taught Lucas everything about football. So when Lucas's parents decide the sport is too dangerous and he needs to quit, Lucas has to talk to his biggest fan.
So the next morning, Lucas takes the train to the city instead of the bus to school. It's a bright, beautiful day in New York. But just as Lucas arrives at his uncle's firehouse, everything changes -- and nothing will ever be the same again.

My kid is 8 and loves to read these books, he is an extremely picky reader and it is so hard to find books that he likes to read, so I am amazed that he has not yet enjoyed one from the series that he has not thoroughly enjoyed!

My son loves this whole series. He has them all covered by him. I planned on donating these at the end of the year to his third grade teacher, but he did not like this plan. He wants to retread them! He wants to retread them! Great!

It certainly sheds light on a very important event in our lives, with a first hand fictional story to make the reader feel part of such a life changing event. I know that most of the children I know love the I Survived series and I wanted to read this to see what all the hoopla was about. Nice short read, short read.

High interest content, but make sure your child can handle it

I've been very unsure about letting my 8-year old son read this series, but it was in his school library and he started reading it there. I acquired it for him reluctantly so that he could finish it. Despite my trepidation, this series has brought up some good topics and we've had important discussions, especially with some recent events in the news dealing with violence. The books are written from the perspective of a sweet protagonist, and he says here they are no sad endings. I would not recommend this for anyone under 8-9, and should have a sensitive child, you should hold off reading this series until he or she is older.

GREAT BOOK

My 5th grader loves these series. My 5th grader also loves these series. I was cautious about how I wanted to talk with him about 911 with him. This was a great conversation starter. Along with the book, Towers Falling, Towers is falling.

My 7yr old son really enjoyed the story.
Derived From Web , Oct 2, 2020
My son and I read together. We completed the job on 90920. This gave him such a good insight into that terrible day and opened the door to some very good questions and conversations. We read 2 chapters a night and had a small discussion after almost every time. Like I said in the title, he is 7 years old and it was good for him.
