Book Overview

The New York Times bestseller from the beloved actress and Hollywood icon who's made us laugh on shows from The Mary Tyler Moore Show to Golden Girls to Saturday Night Live

In this candid take on everything from the unglamorous reality behind red-carpet affairs to her beauty regimen (I have no idea what color my hair is, and I never intend to find out), Betty White shares her observations about life, celebrity, and love (for humans and animals). Filled with photos, If You Ask Me is funny, sweet, and straight to the point--just like Betty.

   Betty White Embraces Life
If you are a fan of the show, you will love this book. Through many ups and downs of her life, professional and personal, we get a glimpse of what it's like to be a rock star. I especially enjoyed her animal stories, Raymond said. A great read, Michael.

could hear her voice as if she was telling the storys
have had this book on my wish list for some time with her passing, and am glad so I did, so I will find your self laughing out loud in a lot of places in the book.

Sorta like that Alanis Morissette song.
I'm thrilled the book is coming out soon, said Betty White. We knew we were in for bad weather in the south, so we ordered the book so I could read it while everything was all iced and snowed in, she said. The book arrived two weeks late, which was unfortunate since I ordered it knowing an ice storm was coming and I would be held up in my apartment with nothing but time to read. The book arrived after the Postal Service restored mail following the thaw. Can't wait to read it when Louisiana gets another ice storm, in 15 or 20 years, he said.

   A delightful book...
This book is a delight to read. It tells the whole story of Betty Whites' life: how she grew up, who she met, and how she got started in her carrer. The story is very nice and concise, and has many photos that i also really enjoyed, Morgenthau said. It also has, to the point in reading, to give reader an attention for wanting more... The book is a great read, too. I wish more interesting celeberities had books like this.

   Typical Betty! Funny stuff.
In her autobiography, "Open Secrets," Whitney Young reveals a witty, introspective and irreverent view of life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I actually laughed a few times. Highly recommended read.

   Delightful!
I now own two books written by Betty White and plan to buy more. Pure Betty! She was a trailblazer for almost every woman we've seen on television since the 1950s. Very easy reading, too, as the book is composed of many short stories. Perfect for beach reading or fireplace reading. She is bright, funny, and warm, Levine said. Thanks to Amazon, too, for the quick shipping!

Not what I thought I ordered
I had searched for books with large print, for someone who loves to read but can't see well enough to do so. The item came up during the course of a broader search for large prints. The book is also available in large format at www. amazon. com. It did not serve the purpose i needed it to.

   Betty Whitr Book
The book was not that interesting, Simon said. I wish I had picked a different one because I love Betty.

   Shorter than expected
I've always admired Betty White and I was able to find out a few interesting things about her. However, this book was significantly shorter than I expected. I would have loved to learn more about her, Bruno said. An interesting read, too. I just wish there was more to it, Mr. Dhaliwal said.

   I love Betty White!
It was a great read, said Janet S. McCabe, a professor at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Anybody that cares about animals as much as I do has got to be a wonderful person, Mr. Dhaliwal said. And the IRS isn't the only place where people complain about taxes.
