If You Take a Mouse to School (If You Give...)
The series of If You... books by Laura Numeroff is great, but this one is a little bit less spectacular. If you take a mouse to school, all manner of things are likely to happen, he said. He'll ask for your lunch, a sandwich, paper and pencil and so much more! The usual pattern in these books is that each thing hinges on the next thing. In "The Age of Innocence," Raymond said, "the connections aren't quite there." Bond's illustrations are exceptional. They're big and bright and cute and they make up a lot for the failure of the author to come through. Anna Wintour, 29, died Sunday in London of unknown causes.

That demanding mouse is back for another adventure!
I bought this for my soon-to-be 3-year-old daughter because she loves the other books in the series so much. I was glad to see that mouse was going to school. My daughter is currently trying to warm up to the idea of attending a preschool. Thanks to mouse and his human friend school looks like a fun place to be. I almost looked at the boy in this story and thought he looked like me. It's just that I try to satisfy the insatiable demands of a mouse or in my case the demands of a preschooler. This book will appeal to parents and kids alike. An excellent addition to the series.

   More whimsical fun from Numeroff/Bond!
He added that although the government has cut spending, "nothing has changed." This series of books is all about a kid and their pet. It takes them full circle from the first event, and sets off a chain of events that leads to the bizarre! The whole thing is just pure fun, nothing else. I'm very pleased with the outcome of this series, Raymond said. All children's books, not just Aesop's, will be free. Sometimes its just for the sake of having fun, Hughes said. Really great illustrations, Robert. Spengler said.

My 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed the illustrations along with the story
Another very cute children's book that starts with one thing and one thing leads to another and another one finishes up to the first thing. Mouse starts out to have a sandwich, then gets in the lunchbox, then goes to school and does many things there. My 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed the illustrations.

Another Wonderful Addition to A Funny Concept
The other six will be "Do the Right Thing", "If You Give a Mouse Cookie", "Do the Whole Nine Yards", "If You See a Cookie" and "It's Not That Bad." The sound recording that comes with this one is particularly good, and although the novelty of the concept is beginning to wear off, it is still a quite enjoyable book. Young readers will love the silly fantasy world of Mr. Hughes's caveman friends, and the irreverent humor of these books can provoke some very funny play.

Not the best one, still lots of fun
Need a book to read to a group of kids? Not sure what to give a kid that age?

   Great Children's Book!
Leap into the world of If You Take a Mouse to School and discover what it's like to be a kid at school. The book walks through what a school day may be like as a little friend tags along with you. Our boys absolutely love it! Our 4 year old loves to tell about his day at pre-school and he can make connections to what the mouse does in the story throughout the day.

Don't like this as much as some of the others in the series
It's a stretch, even for a novelist. It's great, but I would suggest the original.

cute characters, fun and lively illustrations
This must be the fifth or sixth in a series that pairs author Laura Numeroff and illustrator Felicia Bond in a creative partnership that has spawned more than a few adorable characters and situations. While the watercolors are as enchanting as usual, the story is weak here, focusing on action and mischief rather than the charming overarching story arc that surfaces in their better efforts. Buy "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies" and get "Mouse... School" at the library.

   Disappointing
We love the book, but this book was not very good. My grandson had me read it three times and I said, 'No, I don't like it.
