Great addition to out Christmas book collection-- but will probably be kept out year round!
The Best Mouse Cookie has been my son's all time favorite book for the last 12 years. This could replace it for a while. We love all the tie ins to winter and Christmas. We love the mouse and the boy who goes along with everything he asks. We will keep this one out of the other Christmas books. We had to buy it via Amazon because Barnes and Noble's price was 25% less than Amazon's, but we waited for it to come in the mail because Amazon's price was 25% better. Happy with this purchase and the rest of the series.

latest, and best, of the series
There is a mouse again. This is the fourth book in the Numeroff- Bond series, and once again a sweet little boy becomes exhausted meeting the constant demands of a tiny rat. The action begins with our protagonists preparing for an outing to see a Christmas film, but it doesn't end there. Not by a long shot at all. One thing leads to another until the circle is complete, and our duo are wandering off to the movies again. Even after the hundredth reading, the illustrations will keep the book fresh because they are filled with funny details. If your child is like mine, there will be many readings. You will always remember the picture of a mouse singing karaoke in candy cane- decorated boxer shorts, and the sweet pictures on the credit page.

I Didn't Know There Was A Special Edition!!!!!
For Christmas, I ordered copies of If You Take A Mouse To The Movies from Scholastic to give to my nieces and nephews. The plan was to give each family a book, cookie sheet, cookie cutter, and sprinkles. I thought they would enjoy the project. Replacement copies were ordered for everyone after I stumbled onto this edition. It comes with the story, plus recipes, songs, and how- to's. The story was narrated! Is that cool? The recipients were thrilled because they didn't know about the special edition. That's good!

   Hit with the Toddler!
It's not as good as giving a cookie to a mouse. Laura Numeroff books are my favorite. Every time she sees a mouse, my toddler yells " Mousuuuuuu". The illustrations are a big selling point. To the point and short. It's perfect for a quick read to your kids at night.

   Adorable
A classic is " If you Give a Mouse a Cookie." This sequel is equally enjoyable to read. The artwork is adorable and the story is cute.

   Really Christmas time book
The book is not about going to the movies, but about Christmas and winter. I feel like it was false advertising. The book is festive. I will pull it out again next year, so I will pack it away.

   Great for Early Readers
I gave this book to my reading buddy at a local elementary school for Christmas, along with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School. He likes all three books.

   Great book for children
The book was great. These books are very popular with my grandsons. Especially the ones with a mouse. It is a favorite of ours. Highly recommend this book and others by the author.

Buy the regular version of the story
My 2 year old wanted to read a lot. There are a lot of useless extra things in this version, like really horrible songs that don't fit the correct tune, weird extra sketches, and recipes. I was happy with the cute story and illustrations, but I wish I had gotten the normal addition without all the nonsense, it would have been cheaper, and I would have been able to figure out how the song lyrics fit the tune. My toddler thought it was funny because he was frustrated by it. Authors should keep writing. !
