Book Overview
This Description may be from another edition of this product.
This beloved New York Times bestselling picture book is a fun-filled, inspiring story about the power of teamwork and the importance of celebrating individual gifts and self-expression.
And now you can follow Iggy's further adventures--with his friends Rosie Revere and Ada Twist--in the instant New York Times bestseller Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, an all-new chapter book starring The Questioneers
Some kids sculpt sand castles. Some make mud pies. Some construct great block towers. But none are better at building than Iggy Peck, who once erected a life-size replica of the Great Sphinx on his front lawn It's too bad that few people appreciate Iggy's talent--certainly not his second-grade teacher, Miss Lila Greer. It looks as if Iggy will have to trade in his T square for a box of crayons . . . until a fateful field trip proves just how useful a mast builder can be.

Top 10 Favorite Children's Book--Get It!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I like this book so much. It's a great story with great illustrations. I would recommend it to anyone who is reading aloud to a child, and I would also recommend the author and illustrator's other book, Rosie Revere Engineer, even more strongly. These are the must-haves for your child's library.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

When we received this book, my 9-year old was very excited. She said that she had already read it. After she read it, I read it again and she took a bath the next day. The characters are great and the images are wonderful.

Although recommended for ages 5-8

We don't have enough of Beaty's books in the house. My 3yo is addicted to rhythmic stories and gorgeous illustrations. There is brilliance in the writing of Ignacy Peck.

Weird story
Derived From Web , Jan 5, 2021
I wanted to like this. The book has beautiful illustrations. The story is terrible and makes no sense. A second grade teacher discouraging creativity and who faints is not dead. Is that something a kid learns at night? My husband and I are both educated professionals with a good sense of humor and are confused as to why this book is popular.

Wonderful Book...I have no idea why they didn't do this with Ada Twist and Rosie Rivere
Derived From Web , Nov 29, 2019
A book needs more than just fun. It has to tell a story. The best part is that he actually did something useful with his passion. He doesn't need to be an architect before he can tell a good story. I don't know, but this book shows the kids that they can do things.

Great addition to the series

Love the whole series. I decided to give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought Rosie Revere, Engineer and Ada Marie, Scientist were better.

A little bit meh
Derived From Web , Jun 18, 2018
This is a good book, but it is not as good as Rosie Revere and Ida Twist. The illustrations are great, and the idea of introducing kids to intelligent, creative, clever and thoughtful characters is fantastic, but really this is more a recommendation but with reservations. If you want to collect the entire series, you should get this one last. The rhyme scheme is not as good as the other two books, and the conflict in Rosie and Ida is not as bad. I should point out that my son is 2.5 years old, has already selected Yale as his safety school, and loves Ida Twist and Rosie Revere, but he's not a huge fan of the show.

Fun story and art
Derived From Web , Apr 14, 2018
My son is a big fan of Rosie Revere. Rosie is around a stronger book. There is less of a compelling moral to this story, some of the rhymes are not very good, and the art is a little less great. We don't read this as often as Rosie Revere. I like the style of the art.

Artistic illustrations & story encourages boys to dream of being an amazing Architect
Derived From Web , Apr 2, 2018
The illustrations are more artistic than cartoon-like but the story is wonderful. Every child I've read this to, 12 months to older, have all listened well to the end of the book as the text rhymes and the rhythm of the words holds their attention. The paper is thick and not easy to tear. There is a story about a little boy who builds great things. If you want a book to encourage a child to not be afraid to be smart, to work hard for a dream, or to build a career, this is the book for you. I love the lesson it teaches.

Good book, bad shipping
Derived From Web , Mar 12, 2018
I have all of the books, and this one is just a little off compared to the others. I love introducing kids to science, technology, engineering, and math. The book was damaged when it was shipped with other items that were not secured in the box. I would suggest ordering the book by itself or going to the store.
