   Great Tool for Teaching Idioms!
While the illustrations in this book are not as rich as in books like My Momma Likes to Say and My Teacher Likes to Say, you do escape the sing-songy rhyming and poetic attempts that are present in these books when you read them, in a pickle. While not as colorful or rich, these illustrations are immensely useful and detailed. This book is an excellent tool for teaching students the difference between independent language and figurative language, and this book works better than the others for literal learning centers or activities.
   Great for kids!
It would be great for children and I enjoyed the illustrations. It is definitely good for a few hours of fun with your child, and I would have given it five stars if it wasn 't so short. Nevertheless, it is a really fun book by one of the leading authors in the idiom book market. Todd Hagopian PresidentCEO Hagopian Institute author of the popular book Sereies Quote Junkie and the new Idiom Junkie series.
   Book is great fun!
The book has current idioms and typical explanations about origin and reasonable meanings. I bought years ago when my children were 8 and 10 and they remember even now. This time I bought for an adult friend who has been here for 2 years from Russia and is learning idioms. She also likes it really.
I placed this in the writing station when I taught ...
I put it at the writing station when I taught writing to elementary students. It features creative illustrations that may help students remember the phrase, and also works as an example for the format that students can use to take notes for new words!
   Thoroughly explained
Good explanations, however. I think that this will be helpful!
   Perfect for Kids Learning Idioms
It is really helpful and does a great job explaining the meaning throughly.
   Great Explanations of Idiom Meanings
We bought it for our Haitian friend to help him better understand some of the things we say without even realizing that we are saying it. It is probably more interesting for children than for adults, but the meanings and explanations of the idioms are simple and easy to understand.
