A favorite joke inspires this charming tale, in which a little chicken s habit of interrupting bedtime stories is gleefully turned on its head.
It s time for the little red chicken s bedtime story and a reminder from Papa to try not to interrupt. But the chicken can t help herself Whether the tale is HANSEL AND GRETEL or LITLE RED RIDING HOD or even CHICKEN LITLE, she jumps into the story to save its hapless characters from doing some dangerous or silly thing. Now it s the little red chicken s turn to tell a story, but will her yawning papa make it to the end without his own kind of interrupting? Energetically illustrated with glowing colors and offering humorous story-within-a-story views this all-too-familiar tale is sure to amuse (and hold the attention of ) spirited little chicks.

He also thanked his readers, whom he called "the whole family." My two year old LOVES to narrate this story, which is a lot of fun. I really like the whole thing, Mr. D'Antonio said. It's a good book for parents who grew up on stories we grew up on but also entertain for babiestoddlers who may not know those stories. Great customer service, said Dr. Steve Dilworth, "and highly recommend." This is a really cute photo.

My daughter and I read this together, with very distinct voices for Papa and Little chicken. It never fails to crack us up.

Not what I expected, sends the wrong message
Derived From Web , Jun 25, 2021
I bought this book hoping it would have some helpful stuff in it about helping kids not interrupt, but it doesn't. The chicken kid interrupts 3 stories and then his dad asks him to tell his own story, the dad falls asleep. Not that interesting a second time around. Even though I think it's a bad idea, my kid would think it's funny to interrupt story time instead of listen. Don't waste your money on this one.

Bought a used book which I thought was brand new due

It's a brand new book, and I almost missed the deal. Very good seller, kept track of the shipping and even included a nice note. Overall, I'm not a huge fan of fantasy, but I enjoyed the story. However, i found the storyline a bit confusing for my 3 year old but i'm sure she will understand it by the time she is 4. Overall great experience buying from Amazon. com.

Not The Story I Expected
Derived From Web , Jan 8, 2021
I thought this book would address children who interrupt in all different situations—not just when reading a book, Raymond said. I would love to see a book that teaches kids not to interrupt people who are talking, especially when they are on the phone, when they are telling a story, Mr. Rule told The Age.

book replicates the problem we are trying to fix
Derived From Web , Oct 22, 2020
The two have a good argument, and he starts another book. Another woman interrupts, this time with a question. The two have a third book, which he warns her about. Another woman interrupts, this time with a question. He gives up and goes to bed, not sure there is really a lesson to be learned, but it replicates the annoying interrupting challenge.

Love this book

My son's teacher was reading this to him, it goes over how not to interrupt while someone else is talking. It has drastically reduced his interrupting someone while they are talking. He loves this book, and when he finds himself interrupted by a reporter, he says Im sorry I am being interrupted by a chicken. It's a cute book, Simon says.

Impossible to read TINY decorative font on digital version
Derived From Web , Sep 2, 2018
The book ends on June 30, 1964. The guy who made the payment is a fraud, and I don't blame him. No way to enlarge the image or text at times extremely difficult for an experienced adult reader, no way to help a struggling beginning reader see the words or track the text. The sideways format forces pages to the sides, with each row holding two pages. It's great to be back home, said Blair.
