our dysfunctional backgrounds do not make us freaks--there is hope!

I attend a meeting that reads a few times a month from this book. It is such a relief to read our stories, told by other people, and thereby prove to ourselves that our dysfunctional backgrounds and experiences do not make us freaks... and there is hope.

A Letdown

I wanted to write a book with real advice on sexual relations with an alcoholic spouse. This was not what I expected or wanted. It is an okay book, with the emphasis on the idea that intimacy does not necessarily equates to sex. Who needs sex with their alcoholic spouse when a hug at the end of an Al-Anon meeting can supposedly provide me with the same wholeness!
