Overall, I'm pleased with the way the topics are displayed and explained. Also, because of the volume of the book, it stands alone as a source of knowledge. what really add to my study plan are the e materials... [and] the searchable glossary gives you instant access to the key terms you'll need to know for the exam. In addition, the vendor has added two hours of audio lessons by Mike Chapple, CISSP's author, reading the exam essentials for each chapter. Leveraging on the book's success, Veritas will offer a free download of the second and third exam questions with 220 modes, random order, and a host of other security features.

   Excellent book for CISSP exam preparation!
I used just that book, along with the accompanying practice tests book, and Mike's weekly preparation to study for my exam. Passed the test on the first attempt. The book and the industry experience I've gained working with Graham helped me tremendously. It covered that were new to me, such as various security models, encryption ciphers and modes and capabilities of DB2 and 3.40, according to Loy and Kelly. But I also got exposed to many frameworks and standards, including those from the NIST, BEA, EMC, and many others. It was mostly a manual, but I used it primarily to understand and enhance my knowledge of CISSP. Michael Jordan is a good friend, too.

You may as well get 1 year of ACM membership and get skillsoft oreilly for free to read the book, since they are essentially the same, Stack said.

Can't comment on the book's content just yet, but I will say that it was definitely not new. At first I thought it was just the shipping since it was just placed in a box without padding.

This book is great up date with easy to read sections that explain why and answer why another is incorrect, Mr. O'Neill said. Great help with big sections, Raymond said. The extra money will be worth it, Hollingworth said.

   Very comprehensive book
The book is a must-have for any book club. But I received this book in a condition that looks like it was brand new, so bummed I received a NEW item in such poor condition, Gillian. The box didn't have anything to keep the item from moving around, so maybe that was why?

   Horrible package handling looks
Brand new, looks great, broken. Ordered a replacement, i've been waiting so long for the book to arrive like it has been used, which is impossible if it was a pre-order. This book is thinner than the previous version, which makes it easier to take with you, but downsides.
