The kindness discussed in this book was self-serving. The kindness discussed in that book was self-serving. She seemed to be nice only because she wanted to get something from the kid.

Book collection must have!

My 3 year old son LOVES this book! It not only provides an engaging, thoughtful story, but also offers so many topics to discuss at his age : kindness, empathy, inclusivity, uniqueness, standing up for what is right, etc. As he grows up, we can use all tips provided in the book both on the front and back. When he is 6 or 8, I feel that this book will still be helpful even in several years when he is 6 or 8. I would recommend this book 100%!

Great teaching book!
Derived From Web , Dec 10, 2021
K started this for my 5yo grandson, who got it this year. He enjoyed listening to the story about being kind to others. His mother saw him pick it up when he was alone during quiet time and go over each page that we read together. He can 't yet read, but he tells the story of each page as he remembered reading the pages together.

What a wonderful book
Derived From Web , Oct 10, 2021
I ordered this for my 4 year old daughter who has difficulty saying sorry, but it is much more than I expected. The story is about listening to your conscious, standing up for others, being brave, and doing what you know is right despite the consequences. It focuses on an immigrant child who is new to a school and does not yet speak any English. He feels ostracized and is bullied and the main character stands up for him and offers kindness. I am a social worker and I love that this is centered in the book, my husband is also an immigrant, so it is one more bonus lesson for my daughter to see how immigrant children might feel. Get it, give it. Our country needs more empathic people. Our country needs more people.

I bought this book to read with my 6 year old. I thought it did a great job of showing kindness and inclusion even when others aren '' expressing it back. It led to several great discussions with him about what is ok and what is not ok in hard situations. I would recommend it to anyone with young kids looking for these conversations. It's a great book to teach empathy and kindness!
Derived From Web , Jul 22, 2020
This book is wonderful! It has a good story and teaches children to view things from another perspective. The story of Alex is about a kid named Natasha Daniels and describes how she is different in some ways. It goes on to show bullying and Alex standing up for another child who is different as well as Alex. It is a great outcome and has a wonderful story to help children think. There are also activities included in the book for parents and educators. The illustrations are vibrant and adorable! I highly recommend this book, especially for younger children and adolescents with anxiety.
