The host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, shares his personal story and the injustices he faced while growing up half black, half white in South Africa under and after apartheid in this New York Times bestselling young readers' adaptation of his adult memoir.

A piercing reminder that every mad life--even yours--could end up a masterpiece. --JASON REYNOLDS, New York Times bestselling author

We do horrible things to one another because we don't see the person it affects. . . . We don't see them as people.

Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, shares his remarkable story of growing up in South Africa with a black South African mother and a white European father at a time when it was against the law for a mixed-race child to exist. But he did exist--and from the beginning, the often-misbehaved Trevor used his keen smarts and humor to navigate a harsh life under a racist government.

In a country where racism barred blacks from social, educational, and economic opportunity, Trevor surmounted staggering obstacles and created a promising future for himself thanks to his mom's unwavering love and indomitable will.

   AMAZING BOOK!!!!!!!
This book is by far the best. It had so many life lessons, and I think it was great. A great book of racism and a south african child hood, Raymond said. Thanks for visiting!!!!!!!!! It's great to be back home, said Blair.

A great read. I highly recommend it.
Loved the book, said Blair. "I enjoyed it immensely." Even though he couldn't put it down, Mr. D'Antonio danced around the corner. If you are not a fan, it will be hard to read this book and not at least respect him. It is, at times, illuminating, moving, at other times irreverent and often hilarious. I was particularly struck by the eery similarities between Apartheid in South Africa and the present state of our country in terms of racial inequalities, police brutality and the attack on Black lives, he said. If you enjoyed Trevor's book, you will enjoy this one too.

   Choose with care...
If your child is particularly sensitive to violence, I would suggest doing quick reading of the book before you share it with himher. My son and I were reading the book together, and we jumped right in. After the first couple of chapters, I had a sense that I should probably read it. My son has separation anxiety and although he is in his mid-teens, even the beginning was upsetting for him, so we stopped reading it. If your child is able to handle the story, it's a good one-to-one ratio.

   Funny and fascinating
My 12 year old son absolutely loves the book. I am a 50 year old woman, so the book has broad appeal. It's a great show, said Dr. Richard Motz, director of the University of Michigan's Center for Science and Technology.

   Love this book
I had already heard great things about this book, but it really went far beyond my expectations. I could feel every word, every feeling that was described as if it were me. It was a great movie, and I definitely loved the music.

Check to see which version you are purchasing.
It was a mistake, I regretfully purchased the book for my children. I assume the story was in general the same perhaps with some adult language and situations omitted, Mr. Dhaliwal said. It is easy to mistake the e-book for the hardback edition.

   Far Better Than Expected
A passionate teacher, Dr. Goin teaches children about the importance of education and the power of positive thinking. It's an easy read, writes Frey. At times I was out loud, while at other times I was sitting in suspense. The whole time, I was being educated. Simply put, it was brilliant.

One of the Best Auto Bios I have read
Trevor Noah is not shy about sharing his thoughts on the book. I couldn't put this book down its a fast read, and the stories are amazing, Morgenthau said. From growing up during apartheid to his family life, Nelson Mandela's autobiography is an absolute page turner. Even if you're not aware of Trevor Noah, this book is for you. I think 8 is slightly early for my daughter as I would like her to ask some questions about what apartheid was and it's impact on the world.

   Must read book!
Bought it for my 14 year old son after I listened to the audiobook of the book. He loved it, said Blair. It's just that shelf. He has a soft spot for action figures like Rick Riordan and Paolo Bacigalupi. I wasn't sure if he'd read an autiobiography, but it was a win!
