A visual and accessible guide to JavaScript and jQuery in a built-to-last hardcover edition
In JavaScript & jQuery renowned author Jon Duckett discards the traditional programming book template and approaches writing code in a more relevant, less intimidating way. Full-color and packed with instructional graphics and photos, his books have gained a loyal following by illustrating programming in a way both instructive for newcomers and invaluable for seasoned coders.
By discussing JavaScript and jQuery in a single text, Duckett ensures you will quickly be writing your own working scripts. Yet the book doesn't assume you have experience in either JavaScript or jQuery. By making use of popular jQuery plugins, Duckett illustrates techniques that would require pages upon pages of detailed explanation if you were being taught to create the plugins yourself. This durable and attractive hardcover edition is a book you will have open on your desk as a reference for years to come.
It takes about 10 Hours and 22 minutes on average for a reader to read Javascript And Jquery: Interactive Front-End Web Development. This is based on the average reading speed of 250 Words per minute.
Javascript And Jquery: Interactive Front-End Web Development is 640 pages long.
The Holy Grail of entry level/novice JS devs.

Ellison's book is a must-have for Javascript and Jquery developers. Yes, it is the most visually appealing of any book on JS I have ever touched. If you are a first-time starter, this is a great read. If you are a learner and need something that doesn't read like a stove instruction manual, you cannot afford to miss this book.

Great book for a college course
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
I recommend this book to anyone. I plan to use it in a college course on Javascript and jQuery. I do wish there were more instructor resources out there, but at least they provide slides for the lecture.

I've looked at hundreds of intro coding book. This is the best.
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
I've looked at hundreds of books. I never thought a printed book could do a good job of explaining programming, Stack said. This book is better than I took a U.S. course. The book is beautiful, too. It almost happened to me: I almost returned the book, but then I got into it, and now I love it. It's just that nobody ever got rid of it.

JavaScript and JQuery for the New and Old
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
I'm a web developer and designer, and this book is a must-have. It's colorful, uses images and displays the content in a perfect way. Most programming books are in such a state of disarray that even the most dedicated fan will find something wrong. Manuals tend to look more like books than they do hardbacks. This book does a very good job of showing the necessary material for both JavaScript and JQuery development. One of the best books in web design and programming.

Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
Really good book for beginners, bought for my wife, who is just starting to learn web design. Bad would be a perfect purchase if it wasn't for Amazon gift wrap, Mrs. Booher said. Amazon failed me, Not sure where to get a refund for the gift wrap.

A FUN and BEAUTIFUL way to learn
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
It's beautifully laid out in ways that are not just pretty, McCartney said. The school's Web site says the "design supports the educational purpose." This is one of a kind, and it is rare in a technical book.

Artsy, easy to keep interest in!
Derived From Web , Aug 19, 2021
Rather than a traditional wall of text, I love how this book uses art and design to display concepts throughout the book in easy to read pieces that keep your attention, much like a children's book for adults. Great resource, cannot recommend enough as this approach works well for my easily distracted self that can't stomach an average college textbook without a ton of breaks or mind wanderings in between paragraphs ), he said.

This is good tool for self-teaching
Derived From Web , Jul 22, 2020
The other is a book. The books are well-written and I can say without hesitation that these are the books I need to learn these subjects. You simply begin at the beginning, and work your way through page by page, or go to the chapter that you need to review and voil you have a good grasp of the topic. The book would take about two weeks to complete, Morgenthau said. Exercises are on every topic, and there is also a file online of source code to speedup completing the exercises. I recommend this book to anyone who reads it. I can see that the bindings might be a problem, so I am handling this with care, Mr Gest said. I would pay more to have this bound in an open-ended spiral, or I might destroy the book and put in a 3 x 3-1/2-inch binder using a 3 hole punch. Amazon has also said it will sell physical copies of The Lord's Resistance to Fascism.

Great JavaScript/JQuery Book!
Derived From Web , May 4, 2020
I always wondered why JavaScript and JQuery were always mentioned in the same sentence. Thanks to this book, I'm a lot more familiar with the concepts. The book assumes you have a basic understanding of programming. Even though it includes basic stuff in the first two chapters, you don't have to read them if you already know it. What I liked about the book was that it was written in such a way that it was easy to read, Ellison said. $30 bucks for a really good full color book computer is almost impossible to find these days.

No Kindle? No Problem!
Derived From Web , Jan 24, 2018
Only in the form of an e-book will I be able to buy a book. After repeatedly seeing this book in my search results and reading some recommendations from Amazon, I finally ignored my impulse and purchased it. It has become one of my favorite resources. This book is just pleasurable to read, Michael Lewis said. Each page has a beautifully designed and formatted set of images, links and other useful information. Yes, I'm glad this book isn't sold in the Kindle format. Even if the Supreme Court agreed, it would not do it justice. This book would be a nightmare on Kindle, so I'm glad they didn't even present it as an option. If you are an interested in web development, do yourself a favor and buy this book. This book is just a big, beautiful, easy-to-read manual that you will surely find indispensable.
