My twin Grandsons who are 2 1/2 love this book but the binding comes apart after a few readings. The quality of the pages is good but the binding is cheap. After a few weeks, I found myself trying to glue it back together.

Son Loves This, but it's not sturdy

My son absolutely loves watching the garbage truck when it comes, so my friend bought him this book. It was so well loved, he ended up breaking the binding. He was so sad I bought him another one. It turns out that it wasn't just his excitement for this book at the beginning that caused it to break, the binding is just too weak and the spine is half the size of the book.

The book was purchased for my children's daycare and only held up for two weeks. When I was asked what I expected a board book to be, I was expecting it to be sturdy enough to be used by the kids and it didn't last very long.

A picture book, The Blair Witch is a cute book. It took her about five minutes to fully demolish the old one. He is normally extremely gentle with his books, but I think the fact that it was shaped like a garbage truck made him want to play with it, Mrs. Dhaliwal said. 18 Month old loves it. Binding did come apart (fixed it) but still worth it.

But her interest was piqued when her mother told her what a great book it was. He has carried it around the house all the time, and I have read it to him. Some reviewers have described it as too short, and the binding too weak. Both are true, Morgenthau said. Its a really quick read if you dont explain whats going on in the picture.. However, the binding did come apart on mine after about 1 month. To get it to the studs, I had to drill two holes and put some fixed hardware in to hold it together. This obviously is not ideal, but considering how low priced the book was and how much my son loves it, only one star off.

Awesome book but....

My son has a good friend who works with our local recycling truck driver. He gave him a few dollars for Christmas, so we put it towards this and took it out to show him, Mrs Hughes said. Totally worth 5 stars because the design is so cute and my son loves it, but be careful with the corners of the book, said Melissa. My son got excited and knocked me to the ground with the back bumper of the truck, he said. That left a mark, too. I would not let a young toddler or infant play with it, but it's great for supervised read-alongs.

Its a great looking book, said James Frey, director of The Children's Hospital at Montefiore. There's just not much of a story here, but the illustrations are cute and the shape is fun and inviting, Axel said. It's easy for my son to follow along and recite the story which he loves to do. But I understand why people complain about them not being bound well. But if your child is one who totes their books around a lot, I would mirror this concern. This is not an issue for us as we have a designated reading spot in our house and our books don't leave that space unless we're out of town. We don't want to compromise, So keep that in mind, Mr. Rule told the judge. You may want to reinforce the bindings or buy something different if you think your child won't leave home without them.

In his first year of living with his dad, my son is positively OBSESSED with garbage trucks. It was one of his first words, "Takbir!" Mommy's instincts were right—it was a HIT with my little guy! At first, he ate breakfast in his highchair. He saw the book from across the room and immediately recognized it as a "garrrrrh-shruh" and "pawched" to his feet. Since then, he's been carrying this little book around, "driving" it on tables and the floor, and offering it when we have guests over. This was by far the best single-day sales ever for Velcade.

My Grandson LOVES garbage trucks. He wants to be a garbage collector when he grows up. The boy was 5 when his father was killed. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he asked for a garbage truck. The only thing I expected to find was a couple of skulls. I bought this for my husband as a present for his birthday. Mr. Kennedy said he's had a blast working with the team and loved it. Their biological daughter, Jazmine, says she's reading it all the time. This is an extremely happy customer, the seller said.
