Extremely inappropriate for young children
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I'm appalled at the characters' behavior in these books. My daughter is starting to read. She wanted me to buy some Junie B. Jones books for her. We had to stop because of the bad language, disrespect and behavior of the children in these books, as she was reading the first one. Children are treated terribly, mouthing off to adults, teasing, and ramming their heads into the stomachs of other children. I don't want my child to be like these books, they are examples of everything I don't want them to be.

Inappropriate for impressionable minds
Derived From Web , Oct 20, 2021
The author is a writer. While reading the first book in the series, I had to change some of the content. The main character name calls a kid she can beat up and hides in the school to avoid riding the bus. I wouldn't recommend this series to my six year old child.

Best books to share with kids!
Derived From Web , Sep 27, 2021
My daughters and I read these together when we were young. They are hilarious to children and their parents. It's clever and funny. Barbara Park and Junie B. Jones created a funny character. I bought these for my granddaughter. She loves them.

Bratty characters
Derived From Web , Jul 15, 2021
I regret buying these because we're only on chapter 3 of the first book. The main character and the other kids are not normal. I would like to read these before giving them to my child.

Not so great language used, I'm shocked!
Derived From Web , Jun 2, 2021
I'm not happy with the language in these books. My daughter said her teacher read them to her at school. Do you want me to hit you on your can? I will give you a big fat sandwich. These are not suitable for use in our home.

Junie B is negative and mean
Derived From Web , Aug 8, 2020
I was excited to read the books to my daughter, but I realized I didn't want her to read them on her own. As I read this to my daughter, I realized I didn't want her to hear much more from Junie B. Junie B's thoughts are too much for my daughter, as my kid is a kind, innocent child. We try to turn the book into a teachable moment by talking about Junie's feelings, but almost every paragraph is a teachable moment. We will stop after the first book because there is too much name calling for me. I wouldn't hate buying this series if I knew the tone of the book.

Fresh little thing
Derived From Web , Jul 29, 2020
I am trying to instill dignity in my child. The book has a lot of insults. Grace called me a poopy head. My child is a SPONGE and how do I tell her to speak kindly to people when she has a 5 year old that needs her mouth washed out with soap

Very Disappointing Not Recommended

The books are disappointing. Very poor writing. The author doesn't know basic English. Dumbed Down vocabulary for children. If you want your children to do well in school, pass on this author.

Great beginner books
Derived From Web , Sep 1, 2019
My first graders is in love with Junie B. Jones. He would pick a character with his last name. It's a good thing. The first book he read was loud to us. There is a higher level of vocabulary, but nothing he couldn't handle. I will be getting the other books in this series after this purchase. My son has finally shown an interest in reading.
