Given as gifts for the flower girls in the wedding ...
Flowers were given to the flower girls in the wedding as gifts. When I asked the parents about their participation, I gave them to them. Neither young girl had ever been to a wedding. Both were girls of school age.

   Horrible!
This series of books does not even deserve a 1 star rating. This is a difficult read for a 1st or 2nd grader. Even when I read it to my daughter, it is hard. Junie is brat and rude. I have to remind my daughter that we don 't call anyone stupid. The grammar is terrible. I don 't want to have to teach my daughter how to spell or correct her using incorrect verbs tenses.

   BEWARE.
Sure, it is a fun read, but I agree with the other reviewers on this board who have rated the series conservatively -- it is FULL of grammatical errors. Read the review by Gregory J. Nelson, directly below Mine... Beginning readers learn English through exposure. The exposure to BAD English is not doing them any good, especially when their environments provide for them enough false examples. If you want to read this with your child as an easy read that is fun, then going through and helping them to point out all its faults is a creative way of exposing them to more of an everyday pace of writing and getting them to proofread without them realizing it. If it is used as a teaching tool, there is a lot to learn, but don 't leave your kid alone with this book, thinking that they'll get something from it, because you don't want them to have what it has to give.

   So so funny...
This book should be required reading for all females, it is so authentic. And so funny, I read it to my grandchildren and laughed until tears ran down my cheeks... Barbara Park has created a wonderful presence in Junie B.

   I don't get it
I do not get the popularity of this series at all. First, it is above a first grade reading level and I believe that is how old Junie B is supposed to be. The grammar is terrible, next. I understand that it is supposed to sound like she wrote it, but I never understand why children read incorrectly spelled words, incorrect verb tenses, etc. How does that help them to improve? Moreover, I think Junie B. is very fresh calling her father stupid and dumb.

   Fan
I read the entire series when I was in the 2nd grade. After that, my teacher Junie B. called me.

Junie B. Jones is ( almost) a Flower Girl
I saw some reviews that scorned this series just because of the grammatical errors! I am 12 and I read the Junie B. series when I was three. I turned out fine! Just because it has incorrect grammar, it does not mean that it will largely affect your children!

   Wonderful books!
She asked for the ones she didn 't have and received the whole set for Christmas. She is 8 and these books capture her attention so much that she will read them on her own without being prompted!

   Great book
I bought two of these to put in gift bags to ask my flower girls to be part of my wedding. The books came in great shape and I am sure that girls will enjoy reading them as much as I did when I was their age.
