My 6 year old loves these books
Some people have a problem with the book's language. Please don't forget that this is from a little girls point of view and how some kids say and react to certain things. If you don't like them, then you should read the first book that you pick up. My daughter loves these books. She doesn't want to put them down after she picks them up. I try to get her to only read one chapter a day but she wants to read two to three a day so I have to buy the next set asap. Junie B makes a lot of small mistakes and she points them out immediately. I think this is a great way to get your child to read. It's odd to see mistakes in a book, but it's done for the child's entertainment. My daughter can't get enough of these books so I keep buying the sets.

   Love Junie B. Jones!
The 5 year old has a sense of humor. As I read her books, she roars in joy. Her laughter makes me laugh. The child's interest is kept as the story line develops in each book. These books teach reading skills that involve critical thinking and keep track of the story lines.

   Entertaining, but terribly written
My daughter loves the books, but the writing drives her crazy. I understand that the author wants to make them fun and understandable for young kids, but I don't think she needs to ruin the language. My kids are bilingual and they are growing up in a spanish speaking country. I find that well-written books help reinforce and strengthen my kids' english. I need to remind my daughters that while they are funny, we don't speak that way.

   Love these books
My 5 year old granddaughter loves to read. I got the stupid smelly bus to see if she would sit through a chapter since she was used to books that were mostly pictures. We read the whole book at night time. It was a big hit for her 2 year old sister. We have been reading them in chronological order. Each book is read multiple times. When I put one in her Easter basket, she was so excited that she exclaimed "Junie B!" Let's read it! She has been asking Junie B a lot of questions in this box set. I enjoy spending time with them. She has asked if I will have more books on the shelf for her when she comes to my house, because we have one more book to read in this set. When she starts kindergarten in September, she will want to read her own books.

   Good for young new readers
My daughter is a big fan of the junie b Jones books. She finds it funny. Now we know about junie b and her friends because she often narrates what she reads at the dinner table. It makes sense that junie b makes spelling mistakes and her tenses are incorrect as she is a young child.

   Favorite Family Reading Material
A lot of time is spent in the car by our family. The book series has been our favorite reading material so far, and we have recently taken up reading in the car together. I don't know if the kids or parents enjoy them more. We will definitely be adding to our collection of Junie B. Jones books since it is a huge hit. The books were written from the viewpoint of a 6 year old girl. It's funny to hear her interpretations.

   Not good for beginner readers
My 6 year old loves to read, but she is confused by the bad language in the books. The books are written in the voice of a five year old that is angry with a sailor. She refers to her grandfather as a sucker after she cheated and beat him at a card game and tells her little bother to "shut up". This is not for us. There are two stars for the box set packaging and illustrations. In the words of Junie B. Jones, we "Hate" them.

   Teaches poor grammar
I gave these as a gift to my niece, who enjoyed the first boxed set. I wish I had read through them before I gave her them. In her attempts to sound like a young girl, the author uses poor English. Reading is the best way for a child to learn to write. If the child never learns the rules of grammar, she will absorb them from seeing them. The books will not promote that end.

   We love Junie B
My daughter is fond of these books. She can read one in a few nights and move to the next. She can read and comprehend. It's age appropriate and helps her learn to love reading.
