Cute for beginning readers

She is simply learning to navigate in a big world full of unwritten rules about what a first grader should say and should not do. I have to admit that at times I am not fond of Junie's tart little sayings. I do not allow my children to use words like stupid, which are liberally thrown around in the book. I made clear to my children that I can read Junie B, but if I ever hear Junie B-ish words coming from their mouths, Junie B will find herself at the half price bookstore on the corner.

Bought the book for my granddaughter, who reads Junie B. books every week. HOWEVER, I can not get her to read this one... she reads her favorites over and over again. I keep trying to tell her that this one could become another favorite! It's like trying to get her to try spinach... My summer goal is to sneak in a chapter a day or maybe a week... I'll have to catch her off guard!

Bad Binding

The story is terrible, but the binding was fine. The first time I used it fell over 20 pages out of the book, for the very first time, I used it. This was extremely frustrating for a new book. Unfortunately, I needed the book right away and could not return it, so I am stuck with a book that is barely held together.
