it turns out my tween doesn't hate me! Who knew!

My daughter has been using nothing but scowls, eye rolls, and door slams to communicate with me. I didn't have high hopes for this journal, but I assumed my daughter would fill in the part she didn't want me to do. She has a lot to discuss with me. I think the book gives her a sense of safety. She immediately filled in her personal information and started asking me questions about her personal problems at school. She keeps writing and leaving a journal for me to respond in, which is a good sign, but I'm not sure my answers are helping her much. If you have a girl who's become almost unrecognizably crabby, I say give it a try. She may want you in her life more than she is letting on.

I bought it for myself and my child. The cover of the book has a nice feel to it. I read through the book and I want to highlight some fantastic things right off the bat. Many are too big for my 11 year old. This is perfect because I bought the book in hopes that we could write in it throughout the years. I can see us writing in it for a long time. Here's the story of the most embarrassing thing that happened to me in school, and how I got through it. It has two attched ribbon and bookmarks. One for mom and one for daughter. You can't beat the price for this journal.

I haven't started to use the journal with my daughter yet. I'm excited about what we'll be able to share with each other. There are so many questions being asked that I never considered sharing or talking about them with her. My relationship with my mom is important to me. Thanks to Sofie and Meredith. I will post an update when we start.

I surprised my 10 year old with this. We haven't started yet, but we have looked at it. We are going to figure out how to do this. We can't wait. My son and I will get one later. They would really like to have one for their children. They will by the time he writes.

I bought a journal for my children. The son version is more engaging than the daughter version. It's not sure if it was worth the buy since it's the same as a plain composition notebook. The rules at the beginning set the tone for how to use it.

I never thought we'd talk again after my daughter turned 13 in the summer. The journal has been great for us. She's having fun with it and it gives me an opportunity to keep in touch with her. She keeps her privacy a secret.

My daughter and I love this. She is young. She is very mature for her age compared to her peers and I feel that some of the questions are too mature for her to answer and read. She loses interest in a few of them. We will return to those later on. She likes the idea of sharing a book and learning more about me too.

My 11 year old daughter is related to this. We love it. It has topics on most pages, but blank pages to write whatever you want. My daughter always asks me about it if I don't reply in a few days. This has made our relationship stronger.
