Not much new here and not much detail

I was disappointed in this book, but I love Dr. Gupta's work. I was expecting a lot of new ideas that I could practice. He says to stick with the Mediterranean diet and not use most supplements. He says to get 8 hours of sleep each night, but no new ideas for how to do that. He advises to get lots of cardio and strength training. Over the course of 12 weeks, his program advises to implement these basic recommendations. If you know how to eat healthfully, get moderate exercise, stay socially engaged, and learn new things, you don't need to buy or read this book. If this is news to you, then you should read this book.

Under whelming
Derived From Web , Jan 11, 2021
I was disappointed that the announcement was a year before it was published. It was interesting, but I didn't learn much. The advice was the same as before: keep busy, keep fit, etc. Adding several new habits every week for a year is unrealistic and shows a lack of understanding of human psychology.

Frustrating
Derived From Web , Jan 9, 2021
I bought this book because I want to keep my mind sharp and I have always admired the author. The real content is to get exercise, get sleep, eat the Mediterranean diet, keep a healthy weight, and meditate. It could have been summed up in an article. It's one of those books that tells you everything you need to know in the first fifty pages, and has a lot of Do as I do. Many people my age are worried about their mental sharpness because they have limited funds.

Horribly disappointing

If you know anything about the subject or have read any other books like this, it will be a total waste. It is very weak. There isn't much information on meditation. It does not include the most studied memory meditation called Kirtan Kriya. The book is out of date because it was written in 2000

I'm happy that Gupta wrote the book. The book is easy to understand and follow and will benefit many readers. The main theme of the book is to live today and do what you can to help your brain stop or slow down disease by Exercising, Eating better, Sleeping better and Reducing your stress. He puts it in front of you so you can make a difference. Gupta gives five specific goals for the reader to follow to maintain their memory. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to keep a sharp mind.
