Cute book, but bakes are just not good
The book is set in a nice way with pictures of all recipes and space for children to write notes as they made it, who helped and rated it. We try different things, however, and they all taste bad. We follow exactly the recipes written : This rainbow pound cake was brown and dry in the center after we took it out of the oven, which then resulted in it being raw and dry. The vanilla in the icing made it white instead of brown. There was just not much flavor other than DRY cake... Do not recommend this for your children - they get so excited and want to bake things, but when it is done and they taste it, they are completely disappointed. ( cf.

Good activity to do with adult
I also bought my now-new mixing bowls and measuring cupsspoons. For the little ones who want to cook, recipes are simple.

   Keep Looking
I was so excited to start this cookbook and get baking with my 8-year-old. I love how the book looks and that you can write things about the recipe, like who you baked with, what you did not like and more. The recipes are written so that it is easy to read and follow for children. ButTT is where it ends. The great products are not all that actual. I think it would be a good place to start with recipes if you know how to bake already.

Pretty good cookbook for a young beginning baker
We made a few of the recipes. I personally like this cookbook in general. Some of the directions are a little confusing, but I bake a lot so that I can figure them out. I think it would be difficult for a kiddo to figure them alone. I also don 't like that the ingredients are situated on a different page than the directions. We are always back and forth flipping. I wish the book was flat bound so that it would lay spirally, but that is a small gripe. Most of my own cookbooks don 't do this. I like how it encourages kids to experiment and customize recipes and provides space to write customizations. I 'd buy other books from this series. It is worth owning for an eager young baker.

9 and 11 year old grandchildren are very interested in baking and cooking, they love this cook book and are excited to try new recipes. It was easy for them to follow recipes and work independently with adult supervision.

The recipes in this colorful book are healthy and delicious and some are delicious, yet delicious options! Very kid friendly instructions are very helpful. Most of the ingredients we had already on hand. The smore recipe was beyond delicious! The sweet potato muffin recipe loved Mom!
