Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Trial lawyer Barbara Holloway has a reputation for taking on the toughest cases and winning them. But this time it looks as though she's up against an unbeatable opponent--the lawyer who taught her everything she knows. The trial involves the murder of Gus Marchand, a hard-working, God-fearing man who is found dead on his kitchen floor. The locals cast their suspicions toward Alex Feldman, Marchand's hideously deformed neighbor, without any real evidence linking him to the crime. At the request of a fellow attorney, Barbara agrees to defend him. The other suspect is the high school principal, Hilde Franz, who'd had an argument with the dead man earlier that week. But Hilde also happens to be an old friend of Barbara's father, Frank, who has agreed to defend him in court. For the first time in her career, Barbara cannot turn to her father for advice. Quite the contrary: she has to stay one step ahead of him if she's to have any hope of saving her client. Because she knows only too well what kind of legal mind she's up against.

   LOVE
Bill O'Reilly does it again with this one! The killing series is amazing and this one follows in the footsteps. I couldn't put it down.

   can’t put it down!
I enjoyed every page of this book, it was spellbinding and riveting, Raymond said. I just kept reading, Mr. Rule told the judge. An excellent read, well-paced and very well-written. Michael Savage delivered a great topic and well executed from beginning to end. This book is highly recommended by Mr. O'Reilly. I highly recommend Dr. Goin to anyone who is an excellent writer and journalist. The book is also available on Amazon. com: "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Everything."

   Interesting history lesson.
The hunt for the missing Nazi leaders after World War II is a morality tale proving you can run but not hide, especially when you've killed millions of people. The film exposes the deep dark side of humanity fueled by arrogant ignorance and the terrible crimes committed through evil rationalization. It shows the dogged human determination to seek justice for the unimaginable crimes committed by the Nazis. This book is a great introduction to vocabulary for children and adults.

   AN EXCELLENT READ
This book held my interest out and it was easy to remember who the various SS people were due to the author's ability to hold your interest through the book.

Review of a historical hunting by a great author
I consider this book to be an excellent historical book because of all the facts that compel the reasons for historical research, Raymond said. I'm not saying this was done by accident, but rather, a very complicated and historical piece of detecting work ever done. I would recommend this book to anyone, regardless of literary age. It's great to be back home, said Blair.

   Same Old Story
Not too new information. It's a middle schooler's dream come true, right? Same cast, same story. Do not recommend it to the serious history buff.

   Excellent Detail
The book provides an inside look at how the Israeli captured some of the top Nazi leadership after World War II. He said he knew about some of the hijackers from news reports and other reading. However, this book provides an in-depth look at the covert operation that brought them to justice many years later.

   Best read in years
There are so many things I did not know about the killers, Eicher said. You feel the anger and the intense emotion of the attackers, Bruno told the judge. It was hard reading about what happened to the Jews but it was like a mystery novel as you follow along the paths these barbaric killers took and those that were trying to bring them to justice.

   As Always, Well-Written and Explained
The series always describes historical events and topics in very clear, easy-to-understand language, making it even more enjoyable to read. The book details the events after World War II in which the government tried to bring former SS war criminals to justice, sometimes succeeded and in others did not. Happy to be back with the gang, says Sara.

Great book! Pages out of order
I recommend this book to anyone. I've read every one of them, and I enjoyed them all. All three stars have been absent from the show due to a publishing issue. Many of the pages are so thin that they are almost invisible at the end of the book. It was a daunting challenge for even the most experienced reader, making the read more difficult.
