   Cutest kindergarten story book
I bought this book for my five- year- old grandson who is starting kindergarten this year. The storyline is written in poetry and is fun to read. It reminds me of my grandson as he is going to school for the first time. I didn't think about the transition with my 3 sons, but we all know we have a different perspective when it comes to our grands. It is a great book to read with your child before they start kindergarten. I am sending this to my grandson as a book of the month club. I am sure he and his parents will love it!
   Not an actual storyline
I was a little disappointed as I thought there would be an actual story line, but it just tells about the different things they will do in kindergarten.
I wanted the book to be perfect for our pictures. We read this book the night before we took the pictures because it is the prettiest book. It made my son proud and excited for his big boy pictures. We have read it three nights in a row and we are very pleased with the purchase.
   Spot on...EXCEPT!
The book is so cute that kindergarteners do not take naps anymore. I was going to buy this book in bulk for our school, but when I read the page about naps, I decided that I wouldn't distribute it because I didn't want anyone to think that naps are still happening. I would love to remove that one page. The book is well written and spot on with what the kindergarteners are doing at my school.
   Nice book covered in filth
In my kindergarten class, this book is read aloud. I decided to buy copies for each of my students. I brought a stack of books to school and as I began writing in the books, I noticed a few copies were gross. There were brown parts and I am hoping they are not bug eggs. I didn't have enough copies for my class so I threw them away. It's very sad. Books were loose in the box and not in plastic as usual.
   Over The Moon Happy Kid
This book is great for parents with little ones going to school for the first time, as well as parents with glasses. The first thing my son said was that he has glasses like me. He said I was going to school. I love this book and it's encouraging.
Good story & illustration but poor quality.
The book is illustrated well. It's sad that the quality isn't better. It isn't very strong and won't hold up very well for children. The quality should be priced around $2.
good story to introduce young kids to kindergarten
I bought this book last year to see if it could help our kids transition from preschool to kindergarten. My twin girls aren't the most social and can have some difficulties with changes, so new school, new teachers and new friends was a concern. The book was just a nice story for my girls and they transitioned better than anticipated. It didn't make much of a difference for transition, but it helped reinforce that kindergarten is a normal next step for kids.
Cute book, but there are better books to prepare for kindergarten
The book talks about the different things kids will encounter in kindergarten, like sitting criss cross applesauce, recess, having many different best friends over the course of the day, finding a special treat in their lunchbox, and so on. Each topic has its own little poem. The book is cute and funny, but if your child already goes to preschool, there's not much new discussed. Kindergarten Rocks is a book that addresses a child's fear about going into kindergarten.
Great Set of Poems About The First Year of School!
The first year of school is highlighted in a series of poems in the Kindergarten book. This is less about the first day of school than it is about the boy's entire Kindergarten year. This was great because we like poem books. In the book, the children all take naps. In my son's school, they don't nap anymore at Kindergarten and this was a transition we were preparing him for. If it's a sore subject, you can address or skip that part.
