A Journal Filled with Hope

Here are a few included : I don 't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. I always think that cynics are really romantics who have been crushed sometime in their lives and have put on this cynical mask to protect themselves. We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Oscar Wilde The journal was larger and sturdier than I expected and I think it is well worth the price. With the help of this magazine, I'm going to hold onto my hope!

This was a gift and people liked it so much that there were actual attempts to exchange other gifts for it. The recipient loved it so much that she wouldn't let it go despite some offers that would have tempted me sorely. Quotes ranged from Deepak Chopra to Katy Perry and Cheryl Strayed, and Virginia Woolf. There were even quotes from Ayn Rand, Walt Whitman, Oprah Winfrey and Homer Simpson. Poetry, texts and snippets of prose that run the gamut from humorous to poignant, inspiring to absurd and delightfully narcissistic to lovingly self-aware. I did not write in it, but the paper feels like the kind that is friendly with the gel pen.

Just the right size for each day

I chose this one because I really liked the way I rated each day. While I appreciated the quotes on the left side of each page, I would have preferred the quotes at the top of each page and the journal have twice as many pages for writing. That said, the page size was just right for a few things to do for each day without dwelling on anything too long.

Perfectly cynical mental gratitude training â¤

It is a little smaller than expected, but helps to take the pressure off 1 page a day. The quotes are also perfect : They're not fluffy life is wonderful quotes ; they're more about recognizing how shadows can help you recognize and appreciate light. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and is really a great tool for transforming the mindset to gratitude.

Wonderful for Anxiety

I write lists when I am overwhelmed by too many tasks, but this also gives me a safe place to get my worries out. I like that it says what has me freaked out today '', so I feel like I can jump right in and I don 't have to keep it like a normal diary journal. I kind of love the “ stress rating †at the bottom of the pages, it feels like it helps me to put what is going on my mind in perspective. Also, love the quotes on every page. This is something I would definitely buy again and use until it is full.

Perfect for my cynical 16 year old

This book is perfectly imperfective. I bought books like this for all my children to keep and fill throughout the new year, but my son is an sarcastic, unimpressed 16 year old, so that this book is perfect. At the top of each page it says : Why I am grateful today, more or less. On the foot of the page it has a happiness scale and on the opposite page it has a quote ranging from inspirational to silly. I plan to have all my kids write once a week in their journals and I think this will be great for my son.

I had bought their full size initially. And is loved. Inside, nothing new. I, however, like to journal at a moment's notice and having these quotes to carry with me. A great item that would make a unique gift. I have devoted it to myself. Haha!
