As a longtime teacher, I always loved this story. I puchased it for my newly adopted Native American granddaughter.
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
For three reasons, I chose this rating : First I love reading the Native American culture, as my mother spoke always of the wisdom of the Native Americans. Ted Rand is also one of my favorite illustrators. He brings a story to life truly. Lastly, I love the theme of the grandchild and the great grandfather. My daughter adopted a little girl who is part Native American and I thought that this book would make a memorable gift.

This is not suitable for young children. The language I am feeling is too difficult for children to understand without adult assistance. I just couldn t understand Hell. Disappointed '' :

Wonderful book!

An adult should read it to a child better. The child may have dry eyes after hearing the story, but the reader won 't.
