Gather up the kids--not to mention those nieces, nephews, and neighbors alike--for all the twists, turns, hilarity, and burns of tween life in Stoneybrook, Connecticut

It all began with a great idea . and the inspiring original story of The Baby-Sitters Club is back Kristy Thomas's brilliant business plan gets off to a great start with the help of Claudia Kishi (vice-president), Mary Anne Spier (secretary), and Stacey McGill (treasurer).

Great series for my 7 year old daughter!
The Babysitter's Club series is being started by my daughter at 7 years old. She loved all of the Dork Diaries books. She loves Raina Telgemeier's writing and illustrations so she's very excited about her contribution.
   Great for a resistant reader
My 4th graders are interested in reading comic books. She dislikes chapter books because they are boring. You may understand my frustration if I could post a huge eye roll with that phrase. I'm happy that these classics are getting a new look. I hope more comes out before the end.
   From non reader to READER!
My daughter does not like to read. She read this book in one day. She loved it! Anything to get her to read. I will buy the other books asap.
My daughter has struggled with reading for several years. ...
My daughter has struggled with reading. The comic book version of this book has her reading it on her own and with enthusiasm for the first time. I will buy them all for her if they continue with the rest of the series.
The book was great until the story line included a girl having to kiss her mom's boyfriend at the kitchen table. The girl looks uncomfortable in the drawings and that sends the wrong message.
Great book to merge into chapter book reading
There is a stark difference between picture books and straight up word only chapter books. The comic book style in this series is a great way to get your child to read. The content is young. It talks about issues in the lives of girls like dealing with parents divorce and health issues. You can either find those topics inappropriate for your child or not.
   BSC overview
One day, kristys mom can't find a sitter for her son, so kristy comes up with a club wherefreinds babysitt. The president of the group is Kristy. Kind of masculine. Her mother is in love with a millionare. Has a big mouth. Mary is quiet and sensitive. Father is very strict. Parents don't like junk food so she hides it. Grandmother Mimi loves her. Sister is bad student. An artist and expert. There is a person from New York. Has diabetes. It's pretty and funny. The fifth book has a new dawn. From the state of California. When bsc is having a fight, I met mary ann. Mom and dad are related. Mallory is eleven years old. Has siblings. Futer is an author. That is it. Enjoy. !
   Not appropriate for young girls...
I bought this book for my 7.5 year old because I thought it would get her more excited about reading, but I knew it dealt with more mature topics like parents being separated. I am happy to say my daughter is completely unfamiliar with the concept of dieting. I have put the book away for now. I just wanted to let others know that it is unlikely that she will escape the concept of diet and exercise forever.
   Fun Reading!
I tutor ex-students with their schoolwork. My friend forgot her book at school, so I bought her a book and put it on my device so we could read it together? She is from my laptop. It worked out great. Young girls can relate to the realistic fiction in the book.
   My Sister LOVES IT!
My sister is very stubborn. She hates reading so much that she cries when she reads. She lay back and read with this series.
