Really nice book!

I bought this book for my five-year-old's Easter basket and am very pleased with it. I was looking for a book that talks about the Christian messages behind Easter. I was given another book by this authorillustrator duo a long time ago and I liked that one so I thought I'd take a chance on this one. It did not fail to impress! It is a long book. Prepare for that! It has an age-appropriate way of talking about the story behind Easter. I wasn't quite ready to tackle the questions. The message of this book was a nice detour back to center without taking away from the fun of the holiday. My in-laws saw the book and liked it so much that they ordered a copy for themselves.

My baby's first Easter was a perfect gift. I will be purchasing the other books from this series. I can't wait to read this with her every year.

Did not like
Derived From Web , Apr 18, 2020
The story makes assumptions about my son being old enough to make them. The author uses a metaphor to explain Heaven and rebirth, but other points are convoluted. The Easter story should include the ark and rainbow. Is it possible to completely skip Jesus' death? Maybe death is too frightening to discuss. Pish nice! We talk about Jesus' death at church, why not in the book? The author doesn't dismiss the Easter Bunny or Santa, I appreciated how she handled them without ruining the fun we have at Easter and Christmas with those characters.

Not the TRUE Easter Story and more about death
Derived From Web , May 10, 2019
The reason for the 2 stars is the graphics and beautiful pictures in this book, other than that, the story is too much about death, rather than happiness that Jesus rose from the dead or the substance of the true Easter story. There is no reference to The Cross, or the beauty of Easter, but rather a death talk geared towards children that don't understand or need to know about such things at their age. I was very disappointed in this book, because it was not what I wanted to read to my toddler. I was able to return the book for a full refund.

Too Violent for Little Kids
Derived From Web , Apr 15, 2018
I am a Christian grandmother. My granddaugher is 7. I thought it was a little too violent. The message is correct, but too raw in begging of the book. If Amazon will take it, send it back.

Great graphics, terrible storyline.
Derived From Web , Apr 11, 2018
Bible stories are too abstract, jumping around in old and new testaments. I had to explain a lot to the 2 and 5 year olds I read to.

I would not recommend this book if you're looking for a good biblical ...
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2017
The illustrations were cute, but I thought this was going to be a children's version of Jesus's resurrection. At times, I forgot that the storyline was about Easter at all. If you're looking for a good biblical based Easter explanation, I wouldn't recommend this book.

Missing the cross!
Derived From Web , Apr 18, 2017
I am not a fan of this book. My boys are 4.5 and 2 years old. They like being read to. Jesus died on the cross, why he died for us, and then his resurrection, but no mention was made of it. It was not good. I would have returned it, but I would have paid to send it back, so I wouldn't get a large refund.
