The dedicated people of this country make this country great. Marie, thank you for the 30 years of hard work. I didn't doubt you for a moment.
Outstanding Account of a Tremendous Career
This book should be read by anyone who is involved in the socio-political aspects of Ukraine and other former Soviet Republics. Ambassador Yovanovich gives a detailed account of the diplomatic efforts that went on behind the scenes with regard to the Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan. Ambassador Yovanovich revealed some of her deep personal feelings of self doubt. The positive influence her mother and father had on her as a child is captured in this book. A must read.
   Speaks Truth to Power!
This strong, articulate, and brave woman, who spoke truth to power and stood up to corruption, was a great story to tell. Marie Yovanovitch had the character and the guts to stand up for American democracy. Yovanovitch was in the room where it happened. The background and corruption behind Trump's first impeachment for withholding weapons from Ukraine is important to understanding the current situation in Ukraine. What a role model!
best book I have read this year so far this year
The woman is an American hero. She should be celebrated in America. Her courage made me feel better. Anyone who cares about America, what is going on in the relationship with Ukraine, and the rest of the world should read this book. My prayers will always be with you, Marie. God bless you Building a better government, how we deal with right and wrong, and how we behave as individuals are all important. You know how to get it done. Your parents are very proud of you and are with you all the time. You have helped me understand a very complicated subject and touched my heart.
I was waiting for this book to come out so I could get the inside scoop on what really happened with Trump and Giuliani. Ambassador Yovanovitch spilled the goods and I was moved by her description of the Foreign Service's unsung heroes. Anyone interested in foreign affairs should read this.
