Book Overview
How the Revolutionary War Began
The American colonists were fed up with British law. They refused to buy English goods. They formed a militia of tradesmen and farmers ready to fight at a moment's notice. Most importantly, they joined together. All 13 colonies sent representatives to decide whether they should form a new country. That group wrote the Declaration of Independence, the document that summed up a revolution.Frequently Asked Questions About Liberty!: How The Revolutionary War Began

Excellent!! Mom Approved!
Derived From Web , Jun 3, 2022
As a homeschooling mom and one who was not born in the USA, I am always looking for historical books that will make American history not only easy to understand, but also fun for the kids. This book is beyond fabulous, it is absolutely excellent! This is by far the best, simpliest and most interesting account of the events that led to the revolutionary war I have ever read.

It is a bit heavy to read with kids all at once, but reading 2-4 pages a day is a great guide to the events leading up to the Revolutionary War and American independence.

Excellent for kids!

Each double spread covers one aspect of the American Revolution, breaking it into small, easy-to-understand chunks for them. After a few nights of reading it at bedtime, they can both explain the Stamp Act, the Quartering Act, the French and Indian War, the Boston Tea Party, the taxation without representation, and identifying some key people in the Revolution. I am so amazed ''. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to teach their children history, and I am hoping to find more like it!

This beautiful book arrived quickly and in excellent condition for me to use it as a launch for the unit on the Revolutionary War in eighth grade social studies. Our English language learners love books like this to refer to because our textbook is WAY too much for them. Thank you so much!

Easy to Understand

The home schooling of the grandchildren is a challenge. This book did. The text is accurate, but easy to understand for them. The boys are 8 and 12, so that finding a book suited to them both is amazing!
