Really Enjoyed - great for teens.

I loved this book ''. I am an adult, but I really enjoyed the relationships of this family. Aside from the world ending struggles, they had to deal with normal teenage being a struggle. It's not death and gore and zombies, but more about how the best comes out in people when it is really most important.

I read this series after I came across the Hunger Games. As much as I love the Hunger Games, I read each of these books at least three times. It is so insightful and compelling. Each time I read them I find new details. If you or your children enjoyed the Hunger Games, this is an interesting series and will bring up some excellent conversations about family, technology and priorities in life.

Gripping story about a teenaged girl and her family surviving apocalyptic weather events-from volcanic ash to blistering heat and how they came together as a family to keep each other alive. I trep through this book, fearing what would happen to Miranda, Matt, Jonathan and their mother. It is amazing how humans can survive the unsurvivable. While I hope an asteroid never moves the Moon in real life, it does make you wonder how I survived?

Interesting Take On An Apocalypse Moving in Slow Motion

I was quite taken with this novel, with a normal small town family facing the slow disintegration of civilization after a large meteor penetrating the Moon into a lower orbit with catastrophic results around the world. But we experience growing devastation through the experiences of a family trying to hold things together as things go from bad to worse. Very well-written with three dimensional characters, you can 't help but draw.

Easy book to get lost in, not for young kids

This was assigned by my daughter's school for a battle of the books competition. Some parents mentioned that it may not be appropriate for all ages, so I decided to read it myself. I loved the book absolutely! I started reading it at 9 : 00 a.m. and read all morning and afternoon until I finished the whole thing! Yes, some of the themes and language were not appropriate for our age group of children. These were a bit of graphic sex talk and some other things that I didn 't want to explain to my 10 yo. The school dropped the book quickly from the contest. I, however, told my daughter how much I loved the book and that she could read it in a few years!
