Changed my Yoga Practice!
Derived From Web , Feb 9, 2022
The introduction to the book was an enjoyable read, and I' ve received a lot of information from it. Everything in the stages of yoga and how to get enlightenment was covered in Part One. B.K.S Iyengar was very compassionate and loving in his words to the reader. Light on Yoga is definitely a comprehensive read for the yogi and provides the photographs of each posture, as well as how to safely get into the posture and the effects each posture has on the body. There is a dedicated section for the technique. It's a good read for those on the spiritual path of yoga.

Low quality and comes apart
Derived From Web , Oct 8, 2020
My book came apart in 10 days and I had to lower my review to 3 stars. The book has to be better than the one I read, but I enjoyed it. This book is something you can read over and over again if you need it.

Best general yoga book!
Derived From Web , Sep 17, 2019
The book shows you all the yoga poses, explains how to get into them, rates the difficulty of each pose with a number system, and explains what each pose does in the body. There is a section in the back where you can look up various ailments and find out what yoga poses can help them. The book is great for all yoga practitioners.

Disappointed
Derived From Web , May 13, 2019
I was looking forward to reading this book. This book came with recommendations for me. The poses are so advanced that they present a higher risk of injury than I'm willing to accept. I think the layout of the book is poor, and I'm not sure how it has good reviews. The poses are all in sanskrit and the index doesn't have typical names so you can't reference them that way. I was looking for a book with clear instructions to help me explain postures to students, but this isn't going to fit that. I ordered the bible hoping for better luck.

Great reference book for every yoga lover
Derived From Web , Oct 19, 2018
The book is a good reference. Everything about yoga, its origin, some explanations, and what it means to be a yogi is covered in the first 40-60 pages. Each yoga pose is explained in the rest of the book, as well as how to get into it step by step.

Inspire your practice and your teachings by picking something that looks impossible
Derived From Web , May 23, 2018
It helps inspire my practice. Just flip it open and read through the instructions for how to get there. I enjoy the process of breathing my way into each stage on the way to the pretzel demonstration. It helps when I run out of ideas for a class.
