Book Overview

The National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Animals is an adorable animal reference sure to be welcomed by parents and librarians alike. Filled with fluffy and scaly creatures big and small, this appealing book introduces the youngest explorers to the world of wildlife, using a child-friendly format inspired by the blockbuster National Geographic Little Kids magazine. This exciting new reference for the very young mirrors the magazine's square shape, readable fonts, and fun content, to keep little ones thrilled with every colorful page. Little Kids First Big Book of Animals devotes four pages each to 32 high-interest creatures, including dolphins, tigers, butterflies, frogs, penguins, wolves, and pandas. More than 150 of National Geographic's most charming animal photos illustrate the profiles, which feature just the kind of facts that little kids want to know-the creature's size, diet, home, and more. Child-friendly text explains how animal parents take care of their young, how baby animals change as they grow, and how they learn to hunt and eat. The brief text, large type, and appealing profiles are perfect for young readers to enjoy on their own, or for parents and other caregivers to read aloud. These animal tales will quickly become favorites at storytime, bedtime, and any other time.

   We love these books!
These books are AWESOME!! I order all of them. My son is 4 today and he makes me read the pictures and explain the contents all day long. We have both learned so much already! He will definitely enjoy them for many years to come. Wonderful price for such great books!

Not perfectr but a good educational book that the kids like to look through...
We regard these books with our 2 and 4 year old all the time. The print colordesign is not perfect, but the quality of the book construction and content are otherwise fine. The pages are a little busy with not enough contrast, etc. They should re-design these books with a different artistic editorillustrator. In all, a good, educational book though.

Highly recommended for all young children
We ended up buying six of the big books National Geographic Kids Hardcover and our four-year-old granddaughter loves them! They will be good for her many years, for many years. She loves the bright colorful pictures and when we read the information to her, she loves the information. They are very high-quality and I recommend them to all. Beautiful pictures and a lot of information that the children teach so much!

   Great Book For Older Kids
If you have younger children, you will have to read it to them, but may not understand everything in most topics. For this reason, I do not like the title. At the age of eight, he no longer thinks of himself as a little kid. Yet this book is easily for his level and above level yet above. I found the photos and commentary very good and I think he will enjoy it.

   Rip off! Worst kit ever!
This kit was a waste of money and was a waste of money. Tools '' did not work for the project, provided with few instructions, conflicting instructions between linked video and their info. Such a disappointment! Such a disappointment! Janky, made really cheaply and really sucked having to deal with my kid being sad. Dollar Store Quality : Don t waste your money, waste it! I rarely post reviews, but this one is necessary!

My 5 years old daughters LOVES this book
My daughter was so excited when she saw all the beautiful pictures of animals, she said so many times that she will keep this book until she is a grown up. We read about 2 animals each night before going to bed and loves it, she is very interested in animals and loves to learn details about animals she knows and others she never heard before. Super fun!!! Super fun ''. I love to read this book to her. Some animals have 2 pages with pictures and info and some have 4 pages so that it is a quick read but full of interesting facts. It will take us a while to read the entire book and she has asked to repeat some she enjoys, so that this was a fantastic purchase.

   Beautiful High Quality Book
I bought this book for my two-year-old grandson, knowing that he would read it for many years to come. Right now he loves the beautiful pictures and can name so many animals! There is so much information in easy to read and understand language about each animal that I can only say : Did you know... and he is so excited to learn a tidbit here and there. The pages are high-quality paper that won 't easily tear, making it so child friendly. It is exactly what you would expect from National Geographic. I would recommend it absolutely and plan to buy some of the others in the future.

   Great book
I hoped that there would be familiar animals like dogs and chicks and ducklings and animals native to North America. The book is a fantastic reference to learn about animals all over the world.
