The book is very easy to read, avoiding the microscopic fonts that have dominated today's reading material. It has great examples of how it works, and it's easy to understand, too.

   Very IMPRESSIVE
The book has received four Pinocchio's rating from Amazon. com. The DVD and workbook are included with the video. The remaining two books are "American Masters" by John Heine and "The Age of Enlightenment" by Robert Hein. And if you don't find them, they are all that more precious. I have been a Christian for over 40 years. I have lots of head knowledge of SCRIPTURES, but what he is trying to show us is how to gain Heart and Soul Knowledge of God's Word, he said. Gates said he wants to get into WORD daily to see what people are up to. In just one week of reading the Bible, praying and using these guidelines, I have truly begun to hear the Holy Spirit. Thanks again for this wonderful help in studying my Bible.

Take your bible study to the next level!
I just finished reading it. I've listened to Howard Hendricks' sermons and his book was simply stunning. Now I'm ready to dive in and start studying the Word like a pro! The book gave me exactly what I needed to take my study to the next level.

   Fantastic
This book is truly exceptional, Raymond said. Right now, we're using it in our small group, said Blair. I also found some old Howard Hendricks videos on Youtube. I'd give this book five stars if I could. The book has been described as a "must-have" for anyone who wants to read the Bible. Highly recommend.

   WOW!
I've changed my rating to 5 from 2. Deleted my first review as I felt I over reacted to chapter 6. After reading this book, I suspect that it should be read by anyone that wants to improve their relationship with God. Those that are serious about reading the Bible, and those that are not, are not included in this book.

   Book Became Overly Detailed IMO
I was required to read this book in seminary. I have almost 30 years of legal experience. The book began fine, but after a while it was too overwhelming with do this and do that, making sure not to... etc. While I am a teacher at heart, this book became tedious and brought back terrible memories of legalism and burdens. I struggled reading the last 12 pages of the book. This book will give you lists galore of what to do and not do while reading the Bible. Let Jesus help you find the balance between discipline and rest, Raymond said.

Great book to teach bible study
Several years ago, I purchased several books to help me improve my bible study. Many books try to demonstrate different bible methods, but don't offer much explanation on principles and how to really deep study a bible. The book provides great bible reading principles with practice scenarios throughout. If you're like me and need help in learning to really study your bible, this book is for you.

If you want to learn more about the Bible, this is the book for you!!!
Mr. Hendricks shows you how to read the Bible, from the prospective College Professor, teaching a Seminary Student how to read the Scriptures. And yet it is broken down to a level that anyone who really wants to dive deeper into the Bible with greater understanding will be able to do so. He also suggests that readers seek out other books on the lost art of reading. If you are serious about taking a class, he is the professor you would want to take.
