Selected for the ILA-CBC 2020 Young Adults' Choices reading list.

This is the first of three young adult novels from New York Times best-selling author Mackenzi Lee that explores the untapped potential and duality of heroism of popular characters in the Marvel Universe.
Before the days of going toe-to-toe with the Avengers, a younger Loki is desperate to prove himself heroic and capable, while it seems everyone around him suspects him of inevitable villainy and depravity . . . except for Amora. Asgard''s resident sorceress-in-training feels like a kindred spirit--someone who values magic and knowledge, who might even see the best in him.
But when Loki and Amora cause the destruction of one of Asgard''s most prized possessions, Amora is banished to Earth, where her powers will slowly and excruciatingly fade to nothing. Without the only person who ever looked at his magic as a gift instead of a Read More chevron_right

   MARVEL & LOKI FANS MUST BUY!!!
I read this book a while back and I always go back to it. I recommend for those who love Marvel and those who love Loki especially! I won 't say anything about the story, but make sure you give it a try and enjoy it! I was so sad when it ended, but so glad I got to experience reading it!

   Great story, but physically the book is lacking
While I am enjoying the story and recommend it, my review is mostly about the quality, as I am a book collector. The pages are not well cut off and the back page was glued to the cover sleeve. I was able to untangle the glue with a hair dryer. I am sure that the publisher was running rushing to produce the books because of high demand. If you are like me and expect a book that will be made better with love, wait until they aren 't in demand!

   FanFiction = Not CANNON
The character does NOT work for Disney OR Marvel. Fanfiction is free, sure, but Fanfiction is also fun. A kind of odd person feels like they own the rights enough to write a book about him and try to make money from it. It is never said anywhere that it is fanfiction. It is a fake that it is legit.

   Highly disappointed
I am a huge Loki fan and I was excited to read this book, as was my young daughter. I thought it started pretty good, but the transition was really strange and from then on, it was never as good. The time periods were common and I thought the two relationships were written and unnecessary poorly. There was not nearly the character development I expected and most of the second half of the book felt forced and awkward. There were several things I thought was inappropriate for a young reader and did not even start my daughter. I've wasted money for it and disappointment for her.

   Had a great start
The book started out great, but once I was in the middle of the story the story plummeted and there were some forced things that were included in the story that had no bearing on the story as a whole, completely unnecessary. But the worst was the strange time issue to cause a forced connection between this book and the first Thor movie. I was really disappointed, especially after such a strong start to have this book disappoint so completely.

   Make it for the Kindle please
Please make it free as an ebook! English is not my mother tongue... so, I prefer to read in the kindle!
