What a wonderful way to begin to understand who God is!!

A turning point in my life was brought about by the book I read many years ago. I don't realize that I have many names. God has a lot of names. Each of His names gives an answer to every situation we experience. I am that he is... He is what we need. His names are more than just a place of safety for me in times of trouble or need, they are a way to worship who He is and not just what he has done. My life has brought about a different focus for me in regards to His name. Sometimes I need His peace and I call on the Almighty. He alone is in control of my life and situations so I need to be secure. You get the picture. I read this book again to remind me that I have enjoyed the study as much as I did years ago. It is worth the time to read and it will make a difference. It was!

Wonderful book teaching God's Holy Names.

Perfect bible study on the names of the Almighty. A couple of pages of study questions at the end of each chapter make it easy to read. It brings me a lot of peace to know that each of His names is an example of God's total faithfulness to us in all areas of our lives.

I wanted to read this book with a group. I didn't like it very much. The book is confusing because I was raised Catholic. She talks about how God has many names and in each situation in your life, you will find yourself praying to God with that name. God's name is God, I didn't like it.

During the study of the names of God, my love for my Adonai doubled. I worked through the study over 6 months instead of the recommended 42 days. I had always wanted a deeper understanding of the difference between Lord and LORD, and I was blessed to discover that Jehovah is so much more. Kay Arthur leads you through the bible. She asks people to write a description of God. I wrote a small paragraph. I now have the ability to write. I know that God is my Adonai, and I look to him for guidance on everything. He is a valuable asset. I am aware of my sin, and I am grateful for the love of Jehovah- tsidnku. I was led to this study by the legacy of a godly woman that I never met. She is bringing others to Christ after her death.

I was looking for a book that gave the names of God, scripture references and explanations. Wanted it for my teen. Kay Arthur includes this information. Incest is brought up in one chapter. She talks about her experience with her first husband in the chapter. She leaves him and takes their two boys. He commits suicide after that. I got that as far as the book could go. My teen doesn't need to be confronted with these topics. Oh my gosh! I would not have bought the book if I had known about this.

Highly recommend this study on the names of God

I would give it 4.5 stars. This book has given me a lot of information about who God is throughout the Bible. Sometimes the flow is a bit awkward, but the good stuff outweighs the awkwardness. Her explanations of each name are based on the scriptures. Chapter 14 day 34 on The LORD of hosts is not a word of note. The most used compound name for God in the Bible deserves a deeper study. The information that Kay Arthur provides has changed my life and the way I understand scriptures. Anyone interested in knowing God should read this book. It would work well for a small group of people. It can be read as a regular book at your own pace, despite being set up as a devotional. Thanks to Kay Arthur for this eye opening study on knowing God more.
