THE INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELER

From the #1 New York Times best-selling author of The Darkest Minds comes a sweepingly ambitious, high-octane tale of power, destiny, love, and redemption.

Every seven years, the Agon begins. As punishment for a past rebellion, nine Greek gods are forced to walk the earth as mortals. They are hunted by the descendants of ancient bloodlines, all eager to kill a god and seize their divine power and immortality.

Long ago, Lore Perseous fled that brutal world, turning her back on the hunt's promises of eternal glory after her family was murdered by a rival line. For years she's pushed away any thought of revenge against the man--now a god--responsible for their deaths.

Yet as the next hunt dawns over New York City, two participants seek her out: Castor, a childhood friend Lore believed to be dead, and Athena, one of the last of the original gods, now gravely wounded.

The goddess offers an alliance against their mutual enemy and a way to leave the Agon behind forever. But Lore's decision to rejoin the hunt, binding her fate to Athena's, will come at a deadly cost--and it may not be enough to stop the rise of a new god with the power to bring humanity to its knees.

   Fantastic!
This book is truly captivating and beautifully written, Simon said. I haven't been able to put it down since the moment i got it! I love the way the greek mythology has been reimagined, Glover said. What a plot twist! I'm so in love with this book.

   Really enjoyable read.
I'm really excited about the new found interest in ancient ruins, said Tim Rothfuss, director of the Institute for Near East Archaeology. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Goin's book to anyone.

   Meh
Loved the mythology, mixed with modern life and tech, but I actually had trouble finishing this book. The many flashbacks were sometimes long and lost the tensionbuildup from previous chapter, there were a lot of characters to keep up with, and while the emotions were great, there were a few big scenes that almost left them out completely. Overall, I'm not sorry I read it, but I can't recommend it.

One of the best books I’ve ever read!
The book is a total smash. What really made the finale stand out was the level of thought and detail that went into each scene. The fifth and final book, "Lego," is a prequel to the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Also, I love the fact that he calls it "Hunger Games vibes." I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did.    Good and I hope there is a second book to explain more.
NetGalley gave me a sneak peak of the book earlier this week. I have read the entire book, and I can't stop smiling. It's a very unique spin on Mythology with the different houses from different times. I have finished the book, and stayed up way too late reading it. It was a good book, I fully enjoyed it until the last couple chapters.

   Came damaged, very disappointed
Very excited to read this book, but sad that it came damaged. The glue binding is funky and coming out the bottom, causing pages on the inside to tear and on the outside of the book.

   Amazing
Agon must be at his or her best to keep pace with the competition. Whoever slays a god inherits the gods power and becomes that god. It's a terrible tragedy, said Lore, that her family was slaughtered the last time Agon was slaughtered. There is another god, the Necromancer, who is also said to have killed other gods. It's up to her friends, the gods and Lore to try to stop the beast from destroying the world. It's just that terrible, right? It's just that I love animals more than anything, Sosa said. Gosh, that was pretty impressive. It's great to be back home, said Lore. I'm so excited to be working with Simon and DB on this one, and I can't wait to see what happens next. It had a ton of action, friendship, and a slow burn romance, Morgenthau said. There were a lot of twists and turns in the finale. I could not put this down. 0 1462228 1462228 This is very serious," said Dr. Richard Lewis, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It was great, said Blair. I highly recommend Lore.

Amazing Characters, Compelling Story, An Overall Incredible Read!
What an incredible book! Even if you're not huge into Greek Mythology, you will adore this book. The main character, Lore, has a wonderful character arc that is outpaced so well. Overall, all the characters are incredible and the story is so compelling, I could not put it down! So many twists and turns that I didn't expect, with a wonderful ending, Anne Hathaway said. Don't rob yourself of any more time without this book, buy it now!

   Oversized Dust Jacket
Haven't read the book yet, so I can't review it. The dust jacket is too large for the book. I'm not sure why. I saw someone else that said it was not just me, so I had to say it was not just me!

   Interesting Greek mythology tale
I enjoyed the introduction of ancient Greek gods into a gladiator-day New York setting with a hint of modern survivalism, Raymond said. There is, however, a murder melee every seven years to take the powers of the ancient gods for your own. There was also a lot of self discovery from almost every character. The scheming from the characters was pretty clever, too. One part of the book was difficult to read because of the difficulty in pronouncing the names of the families. If I had to change how I said them in my head every time, I would.
