Great coffee table book

The kind you take off on your coffee table and lay one leaf at a time. Very glad I got it, and I think it would make a great book for grandparents to share with little grandchildren too.

Was looking for more of a coffee table book with a lot of color pieces and instead received far too many of his magazine and paper caricatures. It was nice to see his development, just not satisfying.

Ever since I was watching The Electric Life of Louis Wain '', I have been impressed by Wain's work. His perceptions of the feline spirit are magnificent and his renderings of cats are incredible. It is beautiful and the illustrations are great, encompassing most of Wain's work in full color - glossy - images.

The pictures are absolutely gorgeous, we haven t read the whole book yet, but the descriptions so far are amazing and informative. A stunning book for anyone who likes cats and artists who are unbelievably talented and have brought their gifts to the world. It is also historically important. We love cats and find the electrical life of cats with Benedict Cumberbatch and then watch this book.

Louis Wain's work is fascinating in that it varies from realistic to anthropomorphic in its surreal state. This book focuses on Wain's art. To learn more about the man himself and his rather tragic life, see The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, the recent Amazon Prime film. I purchased it first and found it is erratic with the Kindle app on my iPad. The displayed text is quite small and difficult to read, even on a 27 †iMac display. I am much happier with the hardcover book.
