Book Overview

Finally--a theology of love that will help you navigate the confusing waters of modern relationship.

In the beginning, God created Adam. Then he made Eve. And ever since we've been picking up the pieces.

With an autobiographical thread that turns a book into a story, pastor and speaker John Mark Comer shares about what is right in male/female relationships--what God intended in the Garden. And about what is wrong--the fallout in a post-Eden world.

Loveology starts with marriage and works backward. Comer deals with sexuality, romance, singleness, and what it means to be male and female; ending with a raw, uncut, anything goes Q and A dealing with the most asked questions about sexuality and relationships.

This is a book for singles, engaged couples, and the newly married--both inside and outside the church--who want to learn what the Scriptures have to say about sexuality and relationships. For those who are tired of Hollywood's propaganda, and the church's silence. And for people who want to ask the why questions and get intelligent, nuanced, grace-and-truth answers, rooted in the Scriptures.

   Fresh take and then some!
So, I read Loveology because the synopsis seemed to me to be compelling. I read it almost non-stop because it challenged much of my thinking as a Christian of 30 years. It also convicted me about the import and impact of being loving and encouraging and supportive of my friends, married and single. I plan to make all my buds of faith read it, even if I have to buy it. I knew Pastor NADA about him and I will read his other book. He also shouted out my NYC pastor Tim Keller who is also cool. Personally, I think that Loveology is a must read for single and hoping not to stay single.

John Mark does a wonderful job of explaining love and what perfect love looks ...
This book is needed by our generation. It is real, authentic, and thought-provoking. John Mark does a wonderful job of explaining love and what perfect love looks like. I am a much better person to read this. I feel like I have been blessed by John Mark's words, Kelly said.

If Ever Our Generation Needed A Book It's This One
John Mark Comer has completely wrecked the way I look at love and marriage, Raymond said. Loveology is deeply rooted in scripture and biblical hermunetics and is a must read for any young adult. If you are in love, read this book. If you want to be in love, read this book. If you think you are in love, read this book. Unlike other books about real marriage I'm not ashamed to give this book to single friends. He presents biblical sexual intimacy truthfully and tastefully that will not leave singles battling lusts after reading. This book will challenge you to consider the kind of cross-shaped love that carries a relationship past the deep feelings of affection and into the whole messiness of life. I was convicted and I was challenged. If ever our generation needed a book, this is the one.

   i recommend it
The book teaches you so much about love that you never even thought of it. Liked it a lot, said Blair. It really opens your eyes to new possibilities and maybe some of your own faults in your life love.

New perspective on such topics, great 👍
I'm still reading it, but it really changes my perspective of relationship, love, courtship, marriage altogether. Even though I am not new to such topics, I am a divorcee. I am learning from this book all over again. Thank God for Ps John for such a direct and biblical approach to a topic most Pastors don't really touch on.

Don’t be drawn in by the cover
I made the mistake of purchasing this book based on the cover design and sales-marketing endorsements. I am very disappointed. I fully get where the author was intending the book to go, but it was a hodgepodge of drivel. I applaud the biblical context and references, but I feel the author's point could have been a post-blog rather than a 200 page book. I felt as though he didn't know where he was going throughout the book. The flow was choppy and the line was bouncing around. He repeated the Adam and Eve story in nearly every chapter. Save yourself some money and get The Mingling of Souls by Matt Chandler instead.

Biblical book that is helpful for marriage
I'm already a fan of John Mark Comer, and this book contributes to his well-written collection. The text is organized in a way that is easy to read, and the context is biblical and helpful, he said. High recommend this book and his others!
