Book Overview

The beloved Top Chef star revolutionizes healthy eating in this groundbreaking cookbook--the ultimate guide to cooking globally inspired dishes free of gluten, dairy, soy, legumes, and grains that are so delicious you won't notice the difference.

When award-winning, trendsetting chef Gregory Gourdet got sober, he took stock of his life and his pantry, concentrating his energy on getting himself healthy by cooking food that was both full of nutrients and full of flavor. Now, he shares these extraordinary dishes with everyone.

Everyone's Table features 200 mouth-watering, decadently flavorful recipes carefully designed to focus on superfoods--ingredients with the highest nutrient-density, the best fats, and the most minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants--that will delight and inspire home cooks. Gourdet's dishes are inspired by his deep affection for global ingredients and techniques--from his Haitian upbringing to his French culinary education, from his deep affection for the cuisines of Asia as well as those of North and West Africa. His unique culinary odyssey informs this one-of-a-kind cookbook, which features dynamic vegetable-forward dishes and savory meaty stews, umami-packed sauces and easy ferments, and endless clever ways to make both year-round and seasonal ingredients shine.

Destined to be an everyday kitchen essential, featuring 180 sumptuous color photographs, Everyone's Table will change forever the way we think about, approach, and enjoy healthy eating.

   My favorite cookbook!!
In a Washington Post article, I read about the beet recipe from Gregory's new book. It made me buy this book and find it ; I had never heard Gregory Gourdet before. The cookbook made the act of cooking a joy! I really wanted to learn more about cooking healthy food that tasted great and have gotten this and more out of this book. I will buy the next cookbook he writes!
Commend the author, publisher ruined it.
Beautiful photography, flawed recipes, but terribly soulful for the home cook. -1 star for the surprising lack of a usable index. If I want to cook chicken or find cuisine from any of the world-class regions that this book features, find any favorite spices or ingredients I have on hand before they spoil, the index is no help. -1 star for extreme bias towards self-grinding and frying spices as well as overnight marinades. This is not an Everyone Cook's Kitchen '' approach. The author seems oblivious to the fact that we can 't spare the time to dedicate half our time to cooking. Great cookbook for aspiring chefs for extreme foodies. But horribly innacurate marketing... should be called wonderful recipes for people with time to spare ''. If I knew that this was an aspirational book for those times when I wanted to pretend that I was a home chef, I would have bought a book called fantastic paleo for dedicated foodies '', not Everybody's Table ''.
Exactly the cookbook I was looking for
I recently started eating low carb and healthier. All I could find that addressed low carb cookbooks were cookbooks that were easy to cook ''... way too simplified for me... having been cooking myself for years... things I did not need a recipe for. Gregory was always one of my favorite top chefs, I've eaten at his restaurant in Portland, he does not disappoint with this cookbook. I have already made many of the recipes and I can 't wait to explore more. I love the global aspect of the table. Healthy eating recommendations for foodies : Highly recommended!
   Complicated recipes with unorthodox ingredients
I ordered this book for its gluten, dairy, soy, legume, grain-free recipes, and I do a lot of Asian cooking, so am familiar with various spices and Far East vegetables. There isn 't a simple recipe in this book, however, so I have returned it. There are many ingredients that I have never heard and wouldn't be able to make, and the recipes are very complicated, calling for many sauces to be made before the time. I hope the chef will make another cookbook for the average cook who wants to eat healthier and doesn 't want to spend the entire day in the kitchen.
Awesome book. Beautiful. Flavorful. Recipes with a lot of heat!
This book is amazing. There is a ton of variety, good direction and new pairings of foods I wouldn 't have tried. The recipes are delicious and look super healthy. Some will cook together quickly, some are high-class restaurant meals. I may never eat again... Note : If you don 't like spicy food, this book may not be for you. I plan to follow the Autoimmune protocol and try to cut the chilis in many recipes just. If you do AIP strictly or avoid nightshades 100%, maybe keep looking.
I already made three recipes and am obsessed! My favorite meal was glazed chicken thighs with garlic, ginger, and scallions. As someone with the Celiac disease, this cookbook has given me so many new ideas. If you are looking for a cookbook for a gluten-free friend, this cookbook will give you tons of new delicious ideas!
   Beautiful but impractical
I really wanted to love this book ''. I was so excited to receive it, but ended up disappointed. Without a doubt, this is such a high book of beautiful quality. The recipes are of restaurant quality. Unfortunately, many of the ingredients will be hard to come by unless you live in an urban area. From my perspective, it gets 5 stars as a coffee table book, but only 3 stars as a cookbook that will be used heavily.
