Not good at all, don't bother

Don 't go with this book, just go to the easy Peasey school. They have everything you need online and in print form.

not engaging enough
Derived From Web , Aug 17, 2021
Only a number of questions remained, nothing new and no learning took place while working on this book. The summer abridged books worked so much better, but I didn 't see them at this elementary level...

Absolutely Yes!!

This is highly recommended as a way to keep kids interested and studying. The best part was an explanation of why the answer was correct!

Math is Too Advanced
Derived From Web , May 31, 2021
My son took algebra 1 in 8th grade and graduated in 9th grade geometry. As he takes Algebra 2 this fall, we wanted to review some of the algebra concepts he hasn't seen in a while ago, along with other skills. The mathematics in this book is review of Algebra 2. Way too advanced for a review and not complete enough for use as Algebra 2 Curriculum, so that unless your student has taken Algebra 2, be prepared for math that frustrate and confuse. We have not yet used the reading component of this book.

Summer 2021: Day 1
Derived From Web , May 28, 2021
The book was waiting for the last porch when the kids got home from school today, so we are prepared for Day 1 of the summer vacation. Just flipping through it looks like an amazing tool to keep brains active that summer and skills sharp enough to go back to school in August. Besides what is in the book, various online codes for other activities will help tremendously in keeping my kids on track that summer.

Answer key doesn't match answers.
Derived From Web , May 20, 2021
Here are two examples where the W1 D4 answer key has failed. Question #7 If the multiple choice is A. Impatience B. Envy C. Fear D. Bitterness And the answer key says A. The correct answer is A because Hermia would probably become fearful that her father would resort to killing her for disobeying him. Question number ten on the same day should have answers for a 4 part question, but references a multiple choice selection of C and gives the answer for only one of the characters. In general, we are not thrilled about the selected passages or the phrasing of the questions. I find a different summer resource.

Springboard for academic success!
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2021
My son started slowly, but once he got into the HeadStart book, he is really making progress. Great as a gift, highly recommended! This really helps bridge the continuity between the grades and provides that learning gap that we all experienced with COVID.
