Bought it for Christmas and will look into buying the other books by Lyle Crocodile. In my opinion, this book is a classic. Lyle lives in NYC with his human family and not everyone appreciates him at first. The Hardcover edition is loved.

Wonderful
Derived From Web , Jun 2, 2022
I noticed that among the few readers who read the Lyle books, I have seen them criticized to children who were too young. I think that a child should be at least 5 to understand and thoroughly enjoy. My 6 year old grandson loved this one and if he was cranky, he would tell him that he was acting like Mr. Grumps, but his behavior was automatically improved.

I am so thrilled to receive this book! I had this one, and the birthday party when I was a kid. I read them both over and over and over again. These books are one reason that I have stayed interested in reading my whole life. I love it and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has children or anyone who is a kid at heart.

As a kid, Lyle has always been one of my favorite books, so when I saw it on the Kindle, I had to buy it to share with my daughter. It is a new experience for both of us to read children's books on a Kindle, but I love that I don 't have to find space for the millions of books I want to own.

Moreover, I thought that the music was very distracting and annoying. I wanted to introduce my grandchildren to reading a recorded book and participating by listening along and turning the pages. My grandchildren, ages 3 and 4, disliked the story very much and I could not wait for the music and story to come to an end. I am sorry that I have purchased this book.

Too wordy and not in a good way
Derived From Web , Aug 14, 2018
There is a lot of repetition and the parts of the story aren 't engaging. Also because this a old stereotypical '' portrayal of characters encourages a classical mindset, though the message of the story is that looks can be deceptive and inclusive. The message is good, but not a great execution unfortunately.
