NATIONAL BESTSELER - The trendsetting designer known for her effortless style shares the secrets of the art of layering, with more than 250 gorgeous photographs of her signature interiors.
Livability is my true north. The materials I use time and again all change with age and wear. Not only is that okay, it's how you achieve more than a re-creation of what you've already seen, or what somebody else has done. You can do this, too--I promise.--from the introduction Designing a room with all the vibes comes down to how you layer your décor. The more you can mix the elements of your room--your pillows, objects, patterns, and lighting--the more finished it'll feel: not too new, not too old, but just right. Known for her eclectic approach that stems from her California cool, Amber Lewis trains your eye in Made for Living, offering friendly advice on everything from nailing that perfect shade of paint to mismatching patterns with wild abandon to choosing a stone finish for new countertops. These pages will help you design a home that's made to be lived in.It takes about 5 Hours and 19 minutes on average for a reader to read Made for Living: Collected Interiors for All Sorts of Styles. The book came ruined
Derived From Web , Dec 6, 2020
The book had dents and scratches. The entire point of a coffee table book was ruined. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Beautiful but damaged
Derived From Web , Nov 14, 2020
They need to figure out a solution for the exterior condition of the book after it is delivered. The cover was damaged and the corners were bent. I am giving this as a gift and it looks like a second hand book. It's pretty sad about that. I would give 5 stars if that were the case. The pictures are beautiful. I can't wait to give it to my friend so that I can have a better look at it.

Move along past this one
Derived From Web , Nov 9, 2020
There's nothing new to see here. I bought this book because I wanted to see more of her designs, but it was filled with so much writing and the few pictures that are included seem to all be already shared on her account. Follow her account and save some money.

BLAH,
Derived From Web , Oct 28, 2020
Having a collection of all her designs in one single volume suddenly makes me want to vomit! The rooms all look the same, so they lack personality, and this is not a book for someone who wants to have a stylish abode on a budget.

There's a New Book in Town...
Derived From Web , Oct 28, 2020
Aspiration and education. This book is a must read for anyone interested in textiles, color, light, lines, old, new. Someone said that this is a collection of photos with white walls, but they aren't looking closely. The use of arches, corners, glass, and yes, COLOR, plaster, mouldings, beams is a genius collection of cohesion and I loved every page. I can't wait to reference the tips and tricks that she's been generous enough to share with those looking to attempt these slices of heaven in their own homes, as all of her rooms and projects seem to have.

Amazing design book for soulful decorating!
Derived From Web , Oct 28, 2020
I absolutely adore the book by Amber. I'm building a house and I'm overwhelmed. I have really benefited from her unique style and how she creates homes to be lived in. I love reading her tips on how to add warmth, layer patterns, use neutrals, and add texture with marble and vintage finds. She makes a place better.

Beautiful Book
Derived From Web , Oct 28, 2020
The book has inspiring interiors and design tips. It's a nice thick book with a lot to look at. I like her writing style. The cover doesn't do the inside justice. It has no dust jacket and looks cheap. It came a little dinged up. I definitely recommend!

A very nice book. This is what I needed for my coffee table, and I look through my books to find this one. I like the way the modern rustic feels.

All White E’eryrhing
Derived From Web , Oct 27, 2020
If you only like white walls, this is a great book. There are 26 white rooms and one child's room with tan wallpaper and neutral toys in the chapter labeled "The power of color". This is full of the same look over and over again. I adore the staple on each page of this book. The couch is navy. There are baskets. The wood is real. The rugs were vintage. There is brass. The wood was bent. There are neutral textures. The bricks are white. It was a touch of black. There is a lot of these, but a little variety is missing. I would hope that there would be some striking variations, as the book promises, and that the interiors would be collected for all sorts of styles. There is only one style of white painted houses in this book. It was lovely, but not a great deal.
