   Son loves these books!
I bought these for my son, so I have to review them. He likes the Mary Pope Osborne Magic Tree House books. These books have helped him immensely with his reading. He reads for 30 minutes before we go to bed. He can't wait to go to bed and read more of these books. He has an advantage because his school is starting to read these and he wants to read them again. I bought these books for him.

   My son loves them!
Excellent starter books. My son asked if we could get some 'Jack and Annie' books after kindergarten. He meant the Magic Tree House books. It's a great price for 4 books. They are long for my son. I usually read half of them to him at night. We've made it through these 4 and now we need more. I think they will be great once he starts reading on his own. Compelling and informational.

   Cute
My 5 year old picked out the 5th book at a used book store and I was supposed to read it to her. I knew the books were part of the series, but I didn't know they were not the only ones. A sad thing! Imagine my surprise when we get to the end of the book and discover we need more to complete the story. Lesson learned. From now on, I will only buy MTH books in sets. People complain about the literary content. Come on, come on! It's the first step in a chapter book. You're not going to find a lot of literary merit. I didn't give it 5 stars because I wish they would change their educational facts when they reprint. The book is a fictional magic based one that has tid bits of fact thrown in. The historical educational value goes out the window when some of their facts are old.

   Great starter chapter books!
The Magic Tree House series is great for chapter books. The books are high interest to both girls and boys. My daughter is in the first grade. The chapters are short, the books are light, and the stories are engaging. There is a mystery and suspense. My 4th graders reading level is now much higher than the books are labeled, but she still loves reading the series. I would recommend these to read to children in preschool through kindergarten.

predictable but cute for young kids
My 4 and 6 year olds love these stories, but they get dull after the first few, as the story line is very predictable. I'm waiting for my 6 year old to get interested in reading them. I don't have to translate much because they are cute and harmless, and I don't have to edit because the characters are sweet and innocent.

   Perfect
My son has grown out of reading baby books. A seven year old can read this chapter book. The print is easy to read but not bold. It makes reading more enjoyable because he enjoys the adventures. He keeps asking for the rest of the books I have bought so far. She will really like these once your child can read.

   Fantastic
I know what these books are about. My grandson's teacher is reading the series in school and my little one won't stop talking about it. He sent me the beginning books so I could catch up to him. These stories must be fantastic because he is spellbound by them.

Loved 3 of the 4 books. Not sure I want to be teaching my child about ninjas and samurais
My 5 year old reads these to me. They hold his interest because of the good pacing. I hid the book because I didn't want him to read about warriors who kill people for a living. It was difficult for me to change parts as I read it. The other three were enjoyable.

   not recommended
The printing quality is poor. Children read a book with their hands. It is not a good idea to buy it.

Excellent reading for bedtime by parents and children
Excellent packaging! I told my students about it. They liked the characters and adventures. They mixed information about different subjects with fiction. When my grandsons expressed interest in reading, I was excited to buy them from Amazon at a reasonable price.
