An average book among the rest... yeah?
Derived From Web , Feb 6, 2020
It's great to be back with Max and I love the story as well as the magazine series. The main disappointment is that magnus is not the book. Many of my friends say the same thing.

More on the Magnus Chase Series, good but no so fun as the novels
Derived From Web , Jun 22, 2019
This book gives us a bildungsroman of the Norse gods, but as it is written in a 9 1/2 x 2 1/2 hour format, with nine stories, independent from one another, the book as a whole is not so fun, or suspense-full as the novels. And, yes, I can see why Mr. Rule was so critical of Amazon. com.

Stories from the 9 Realms
Derived From Web , Jun 14, 2019
At last, we get to see the real deal - Rick Riordan's take on the world's greatest bounty hunter. In the third and final book, we learn about one another through a series of vignettes, each focusing on a task that each character narrates. Each of the six leads has an opportunity to use their own voice and be in the spotlight, he said.

DO NOT BUY
Derived From Web , Mar 14, 2019
I really e-expected the book to have some marijuana, Mr. Rule told the judge. The book's focus and scale was disappointing. Not worth the price, broken and lacking an actual plot. Selling a car is not worth the price. Buy it now! Style and overall quality of the book declined and was a letdown. Only one star is not giving it 1 star because overall it was a compete disappointment, I must admit. Been a fan of Rick Riordan for a long time and was extremely disappointed by this book.

OK add on short story
Derived From Web , Feb 20, 2019
If you haven't read the rest of the Magnus series this would make little sense to you, Mr. Dhaliwal said. The stories themselves are ok but lack the normal detail of the author. I guess i was just a bit disappointed in it considering the price, but i am normally one who will pay a little more to get a physical copy of an ebook. In my opinion this book is something that should be priced under $5 so if you want to read this i would recommend just getting the eBook.

Book 4 is not a book but a collection of short stories
Derived From Web , Nov 20, 2018
There is not much cohesion between the short stories and the novels. It was not what I expected, which was to be a story about Magnus and his compatriots, Mr. Dhaliwal said. Only in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy did the hero realize that he was running through nine worlds. Just about everything about this movie is reminiscent of a ripoff.

Review

I've read all his books, and I still love them. Rick Riorden has brought myth and humor together for another wonderful piece of writing. Escape from the modern world.

Not the best of his work
Derived From Web , Nov 2, 2018
I was excited to see another Magnus Chase book out there, said Bustamante. This was a little bit of a letdown, Bruno said. Only a set of short stories that don't add up to a whole lot. It's probably not going to happen again, but I would have minded if it was cheaper. It's a semi-entertaining read, even if you're not a book worm. I wish I'd have spent the money on the second book.

What in the 9 worlds?
Derived From Web , Oct 22, 2018
He has a huge fan base, said Pauley, a huge Riordan supporter. Even if Frey had intended to withhold the book, it would almost certainly have been delivered to his publisher. While I love the show's cast and the characters, these stories were literally puked to fill pages. There is no personality, no depth, nothing that is worthy of fans, Bruno said. It was a case of one man versus all the boys, said Rick Riordon, one of the book's co-authors.
