   Gripping History! !
Fast, quality writing. Historians say that shares of history previously hidden or worse, taken for granted.

An Awesome book referred to me by The Daily Show With John Stewart. Only a graphic novel could provide such striking imagery. I plan on purchasing every book in the trilogy which shouldn't be too hard since, for me, it was a compulsive buy when I was broke and desperate. I didn't think twice to purchase it, and I don't regret doing it P.

Add this historic graphic novel to your collection.
Thanks, booklover! In a high school classroom, students cannot wait to share this book. We can use this book as we talk about public school funding inequities that are happening right now in our school and all over our country, he said. The impact of a single person can be seen in the classroom. Because it is autobiographical and about the civil rights movement, it will fit perfectly within the Common Core. Well done, Winslet, the pictures move the story. I've also met John Lewis, who as a young man joined the movement and made a real difference in changes in this country, Rosa Parks said. I could not put it down until it was finished, he said. This is the first of a planned four books.

A Great Book that should be in every Library in America
New York City has included this book in its middle school reading program. In "The Great Gatsby," John Lewis is quoted as saying, "There was a certain elegance to the story. However, it is a constant reminder of how much work some people did to defend our rights and why we must not surrender them. March Book One documents the change that can be achieved when people take action.

   A Framework for the future...Stunning
Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell, respectively authors of March Book One, received National Book Award and Robert F. Kennedy Book Award for Special Recognition. This graphic memoir blends the appeal of graphic novels with the history lived by one of our great civil rights movement leaders. Through flashbacks and stories told to others, Lewis tells his story of coming of age in a way that is reminiscent of the oral tradition of many who have come before us. He is not just retelling his past to offer a lesson for the future, but he is providing a framework for those in today's society looking for ways to improve America for themselves and others.    Awsome graphic novel!!
This book was recommended to me by a professor and I found it very enjoyable to read. The book had stunning visuals that really helped convey the feelings of the time period and the book was still historically accurate. The second book was also very good, and I will read it again.

My grandson really enjoyed reading about what happened in Mr. Lewis' life and how he still today is fighting for Black Americans, said the grandmother.

Well paced, nicely drawn, no real revelation. Pictures are more evocative than words alone
I've admired the storytelling through pictures. The content of the report was no surprise, and reflected prior awareness of Microsoft's problems. It's great to have a living hero reach into a new medium, Mr. D'Antonio said.

A must-read for any student of history!
A great book, Gillian. What better way to teach history than by creating a graphic novel? It's time for teachers to have it in every classroom. It's a must-have for any American history teacher.

   Very interesting
The story is very well told, but you are going to have to go back and forth between two different time periods. At times I struggled to tell the difference between those two periods. It was very informative about Lewis' early life and the beginnings of the civil rights movement, the writer said.
