The date of the Great Fire of London will always be remembered by your kids after reading this book. Fantastic family conversations about why people turn to fantasy, preparing for a future, and honesty, and a terrific read! We liked this book.

Master Cornhill
Derived From Web , Feb 8, 2022
Around the time of the London Fire and the Black Plague, there was an orphan 11 year old boy in London. I like the descriptive language, the pictures and the map, all of which helped me to imagine what it was like to live in that place in history. The main character was loyal to his friends. He tried to find his way in the world without his parents, and I admire the way he did it. This book is for everyone.

The book is slow on plot. It was hard for me to read it to my children. The author uses a lot of words

A Well Written Historical Fiction Story for Young & Adult Readers
Derived From Web , Dec 18, 2020
I bought this book to use in my son's program. The person asked if he read it to me. We took turns reading it out loud to each other. This is a fiction. My boy is 13 years old. Some of the wording was hard to understand and he was not an avid reader. I found it to be very well written, thoroughly researched and enjoyable as an adult. I decided to buy more stories from the same author. It was a great experience for my son, even though he was frustrated at times. He connected with the characters and looked forward to knowing what was going to happen.
