Very cute

We have quite a few beginning readers books by Penguin Young Readers, Scholastic Kindergarten Kids, and I Can Read. That said, this is one of a possible dinosaurs - egg that provides some suspense, a dramatic twist, and the picture style is what I like to see in children's books clear, simple and not from clip-art. There is another one by the same authorillustrator duoMax Has a Fish, and it is on our list.

It is so much fun to love! My young son leaning to read and liked this book. It has just enough word repetition for him to become familiar with some words, but not so much that it makes your eyes roll. For the beginning reader, recommended.

Best series for Level 1, my son loved it!

I really like these Penguin - Young Readers ''. I open a lot of Level 1 books, and I scratch my head saying, this is Level 1??? Like most other series contain lots of big words and so many words per page that my son gets mentally exhausted after a few pages. And the story is still terrible! But these Penguin Young Readers are what I think of as TRUE Level 1 for the kid who just put everything together and starts to read. It is such a great feeling for my little man to be able to read the whole book himself. Though the story is simple, it was fun. I also like the fact that this series has original stories rather than just something canned about some cartoon characters that usually don 't even have a story. I have already bought about 4 of these Penguin Young Readers, and I'm going to buy some more.
