The porcine wonder is off to the drive-in -- and driven to follow that buttery smell -- in a comic crescendo that reunites a familiar cast of characters.
Some may find it wonky to take a pig to the movies. But not Mr. and Mrs. Watson, who think the title of the film is inspirational. And not their beloved Mercy, who is inspired by the fact that the drive-in proudly serves real butter on its Bottomless Bucket of popcorn. So when they pull up in their convertible, Mercy lifts her snout and becomes a pig on a mission - for what is more heavenly than being hot on the trail of a true butter smell? Masterful slapstick director Kate DiCamillo sends Mercy on a delirious chase, followed by a trail of hapless rescuers that fans will recognize from prior episodes. And Chris Van Dusen's comic retro illustrations perfectly capture a nostalgic pastime - along with the newest antics of a charmingly single-minded pig.It takes about 4 Hours and 18 minutes on average for a reader to read Mercy Watson: Something Wonky This Way Comes. Don't Buy For Kindle!

Amazon's review said it was "recommended" for children's kindles. The book displays in landscape format only and cuts off most of the right hand page making it unreadable.

This is the best book ever

This is a great book for bigger readers, too, said Dr. Julie Mason, who co-chaired the inquiry. Because it is in between two picture books, I think it is silly.

Kids enjoy it
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
It's great for the kids, ages 4-8. It's just that I think it's overrated. I think the plots are dumb and the resolution is usually unsatisfying, Raymond said. It was not written for me, Raymond said. I don't think I'll buy more of it.

I have a 5 year old who is obsessed with the Harry Potter series. Each chapter leaves you wondering what will happen next, the characters are lovable and the stories are humorous, too. This is a great book, highly recommended.

My students absolutely love these books. It's a great read aloud for my first grade class as the chapters are short and I can read them during short transitions.

This was my 7 year old daughter's first "Harry Potter" costume. Chapter 3 is an easy read, said Dr. Goin. It was very funny and kept her interested in reading it by herself, Morgenthau said.

Boring book
Derived From Web , Jun 6, 2020
Purchased this book for my first grader because of the positive reviews and appropriateness for her reading level. We were both disappointed we couldn't get it done, Mr. Dhaliwal said. I can't think of a book my daughter hasn't liked. It was a total waste of time, money and energy, and we both found it boring and forced ourselves to finish it. This was our first boom, but it will be our last.
