Wonderful Dictionary for the 8-11 age and beyond!I

This is a wonderful dictionary for my 7 year old granddaughter who was an avid reader. The definitions are easy to understand and the large print makes it easy to read, even for her Grandmother, it highlights the History of certain words and the root word for others. I am extremely pleased with my purchase of this dictionary. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great for 9 year old son!

I recently purchased a second dictionary for my son. He is 9 and constantly asking me how to spell things. This has been a great tool for him, I can assure you of this. It is easy for him to look up words and understand the meaning of them. The quality of the products is second to none. Overall a great dictionary for the price of children.

Wrinkled Pages from Dampness

The first 28 pages are wrinkled and curl in most likely from getting wet prior to delivery. It's my first dictionary and although it's still readable, it just bothers me to have bumpy wrinkley pages compared to the smooth pages that didn't have water damage. The book will be returned to Amazon. com.

This was my first time using it and it works great. She loves it and its easy to teacher her to navigate but does require, of course, a degree of reading and phonetic ability.

This would not last 1 day in my son's backpack. It's clear Merriam-Webster was looking to cut costs, and they did so by using cheap paper to cover the book. The book cover itself is very thin compared with standard cardstock, and because of this, it is not suitable for children. It feels like a knockoff. Complete waste of MY money.
