   A fine cross-reference
This classic Merriam-Webster pocket resource aims for coverage at the cost of depth, but covers your needs for a huge range of needed associations. I prefer the Laisserian Student Dictionary for its pedagogical value and user friendliness, but that is not the purpose of the Merriam-Webster reference book. My only nick against the product -- which is what it sets out to be at a price and size point that should make one happy -- is the binding was poor, with the cover separating from the paperback spine but luckily cement was not a stranger here, so that was fixed with less trouble than a return or exchange.

Product is new and in excellent condition as advertised, but nothing said or showed anywhere that it's a pocket-size book. Don't you think that such personal information could be displayed clearly?

Bought it for my kid's French class. This edition seems to meet all of her needs since they aren't allowed to use electronics in school, she said.

   Recommended.
We drove around Paris and the countryside and found it. Very helpful, especially since my French is limited. A good book, The Age of Persuasion.

   Great value
I am not French, so I have not been using this for the most reasons people would buy a French-English dictionary, and I have no standard for comparison to other such dictionaries. But during the recent outbreak, I've been having conversations with a French-speaking immigrant who is fluent in French and trying to learn English. The dictionary cost me under $4 and I highly recommend it.

Helpful in my quest to learn French.
I'm French with Duolingo, and this helps to answer some of my questions and fill in some gaps.

   Good resource for a traveler
Overall, the book is a good balance of size and content. It would be great if it could be smaller, so as to fit into a pocket, but if it were to be larger, it would either have far fewer translations or perhaps even a lot smaller print.

   Not entirely happy with product
The dictionary, while apparently brand new, appears to have been on a shelf for a while and the corners of the spine are damaged, the writer said.

Bigger than a pocket-sized dictionary should be
Alas, the Collins Gem dictionary is no longer available, so I bought this in case I needed to go on a trip to Provence. I'm not French, but I thought I'd brush up on my French and take it with me if I needed it. I'm old school and prefer paper to electronic resources, Raymond said. I did use it at home, but found it too heavy to carry along in my carry on. Using Google Translate worked fine for not-too-sophisticated linguists in a short-term travel situation.

   Clearly printed and well-organized
This is your basic paperback dictionary that we old school folks still use. This new edition of The Age is considerably expanded and revised, thanks to the assistance of Merrian-Webster. The new dictionary also includes Canadian language entries. But this is an excellent dictionary that is small enough for easy carrying and use in classroom or elsewhere.
