   A classic...need I say more?
Mike Mulligan was my brother's favorite story and was a great deal for me with 4 more books in the volume for virtually the same price.

   Burton Favorites in one volume!
Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel was a favorite in the 1960s that I shared eagerly with my children in the 1980s. I am now happy to give it to my four-year-old grandson. The fact that his grandfather has a backhoe, much like Mike Mulligan's steam shovel, Mary Ann, makes it a sure fire winner. And of course, repetition and future rhyming add just to the appeal for a playful reader. Caty and the Big Snow and the Little House were my sons simply because of name recognition that they discovered next to their favorite on the library shelves. They also became familiar friends, much admired and much read. The story is unfamiliar, but I plan to read it along with the others and perhaps discover a new friend. These stories may seem outdated, but they actually provide lots of opportunities for parents or other readers to share history with children - always a good thing!

   classic!
Great stories from childhood... still as great as I remember and presented beautifully! Just as another noted book is presented in its entirety, each book is noted in its entirety.

   Childhood book
As a kid, this book was one of my favorite books. My grandparents had this book and I loved reading it when I went to visit them. I am excited to have my own copy. The book was in good condition, as stated by the seller.

   A true reproduction of classics
An unpublished selection of three of my favourite children's books and true reproductions of illustrations. I look forward to reading it to my grandson!

   Nonstop reading
Our six-year-old grandson loves all the stories. The question is how many times can we read him to him? Not all his favorites at bedtime, but also during the day.

   Don't wait to get this!
We've had this on our list for over 2 years and we finally put it on the cart and bought it as a Valentine's gift since the snows were heavy that year. We do, and so do we. I think we hesitated because it was a big book with them all put together and just seemed too heavy to have a collection. I think we wanted them to be bound individually, so that they would be easier to hold. But we love it really. It is not overwhelming in size and he loves being able to choose the story by pointing to the picture.

   A Classic
My mother read this story to me when I was a child in the early 50s, and I loved it. I bought it in the 70s for my boys and loved it too. I bought copies in the 2000s for my grandsons, and they love it just as much. No hidden political messages, no social engineering... just great stories.

Nice stories and book, printer was off
Love this collection of stories and illustrations, especially Katy and the Big Snow. Unfortunately, the printing is offset in some places, most recognizable on the story of Katy. Otherwise, the quality is nice.

Beautiful compilation of stories all homes should have!
All children in their homes need Mike, Katy, Maybelle and the Little House and with this treasury they get all tied up in a beautiful hardcover book neatly! When reading the introduction, I learned that Burton included children in all stages of her writing and illustrating process, ensuring that her products would indeed be loved by the intended audience. And they are beloved!
